Someone with 32 PL appearances least season surely doesn’t warm the bench? 19:03 - Jul 23 with 813 viewsMatt_Netherlands

(Unless your name is Jack Taylor)

In all seriousness though… do we think Young will be a starter? And where does that leave Ben Johnson if so? (Haven’t heard of any more interest in him)

I think Young has come in to add serious competition for Johnson. I see Johnson starting the first couple of games and if he isn't good enough then Young will take over for the rest of the season. Johnson can be used up the field with Clarke moving on.

We have to remember that there are more games in the Championship, so there will probablly be rotation.

If there’s any truth to the wages, he has to start and has to improve us significantly. Which then brings concerns about Sat-Tues-Sat games. It’s one thing managing a game every week, quite another 2 every week especially at 40.

Fit as a flee the Young lad.

I think Young plays and Johnson provides the option off the bench if 90 minutes is too much for him and plays one match in each of the double game weeks.

There is a massive difference between starting regularly for Everton last season and coming off the bench regularly for Town (Young's stats vs Taylor's).

I hope so. If he can keep bombing up and down he could be a ridiculous signing.

It's not even about starts

How many times even in promotion seasons have we heard KM say we didn't manage the end of games well on occasions.

Signings like young could be massive for this reason.

Come on help see a game out and calm everyone down.

a niche perspective
