What do we think then.. 09:13 - Aug 1 with 3245 viewsBlooos

Will it be both or one of Jens & Hackney? Both seems too good to be true.

Bit of an odd comment, its called an opinion based on what I feel if that's ok with you? Clearly it's not what I hope happens and I'd love to be proved wrong.

I find life is often better when you choose to find the positives in life! We all respect different opinions but there is just no need to be so pointlessly negative when your concerns are ultimately total speculation.

There is going to be some tough choices
Walton released Slicker loaned out
Burns not getting a number
Humpreys and Baggott loaned out
One of Broadhead or Hutchinson sold
One of Clarke or Johnson sold

This feels about right, however it sounded like clarkes injury was a bit ominous the other day so could see us keeping him around, not giving him a number and loaning in jan again. His fitness has been a difficult journey since his operations last summer.

Broadhead I should imagine goes now, he's a good player and someone I will miss in the team.

Gk is a position that has never been long term locked down for mckenna so I think the answer is we could lose any 2 of 4 (excluding button) because we would work with what we have left. I can't see muric being content as a bench warmer though and that will shape whatever comes next.

If Al Hamadi remains which I'm increasingly thinking he will i imagine we look to an u21 non squad space option in this position, which is...interesting. I really think we need a proven option on board. Question marks exist on Hirsts fitness over a season and alis ability. Ashton to be busy down to the final day of the window.

Probably turning into one of our most interesting transfer windows to date this one.

I suspect we might think about naming less than 25. If Clarke and Burns are out until towards the end of the year I can see a situation where we effectively have a bob each way and keep one place or even two open for them and possibly Button too.

You don't know me, I'm a very positive person, I am also a realistic person and always say it as I see it, just going along with blind faith and misguided optimism courts disappointment, nothing wrong with us all seeing things differently.

Not a chance Cajuste comes back, and I'm not confident Hackney will commit to it either, sadly.

Can't imagine a Prem club isn't interested, and he'll follow the money as they all do. Can't blame players these days for that tbh.

It's not blind faith or misguided optimism! We've had a bid accepted for Hackney and a journalist with 400k followers says we have bid again for Cajuste. That does not happen in modern football without the go ahead from the players.

Instead, you've chosen to look at both those things in the most negative way possible.

Be the very positive person that you say you are!

If you can get both you absolutely do it - especially for the loan with an option/obligation being quoted for Cajuste. That gives us real depth and quality in the midfield that would even stand us in good stead going in to the PL next season if it happens.

Absolutely. Last time we had Jens in the Premier League we had to stay up in order to benefit from the option/obligation to buy. Whereas this time, if the rumour is accurate, we only have to /get/ up, not /stay/ up in order to get him permanently, at a really good fee.

We've lost Morsy, Luongo, Phillips and Cajuste. Having only brought one in, and got Humphreys back, I do think we would ideally sign two more CMs if the quality is available at the right price.

Hackney is more important, for me. There's still a chance that Cajuste isn't good enough for a top 17 Premier League team, whereas the view of Hackney is that he will prove easily that good in time.

But yeah, if we can get both, we should.

I think we will have to name 25 and use them all.

Sadly for Burns I think he is done with us. 30 years old, final year of his contract and not back until October. Even then it will take him months to get back up to speed. I tink we get him fit and then see if we can loan him out in January.

With Young, Johnson and O'Shea we are well stocked for RB cover.

Ali is interesting one, he can play 9 and in any of the supporting striking roles. But I do think we need a solid 9 to cover Hirst.

The Clarke injury is sad, although it night be something unrelated to his medical history. He never got fully fit after that double op last season.

No reason why it can't be both from our end. From the players and agents end, there might be issues, but for us, no reason why both can't come in. we need 2 as a minimum.
