Football shirts at festivals… 21:17 - Aug 19 with 4026 viewsITFC_Forever

Something I like to do on my travels as a football fan is keep a count of the number of fans of different clubs I see…. It can be a shirt, jumper, tattoo, or some other way of identifying who they support, such as in conversation.

This weekend (last? The one just gone) I was at Beautiful Days in Devon…. I wore a couple of retro tops on the Thursday evening and Saturday, so that naturally helped the our score (as it prompted several Blue Armys / Uppa Towens etc), as well as our “friends” in Norfolk.

Here’s the league table from the weekend:

Ipswich Town 16
Arsenal 8
Burnley 6
Liverpool 6
Man United 6
Norwich City 4
Oxford United 4
Birmingham City 3
Leeds United 3
West Brom 3
Manchester City 2
Newcastle United 2
Plymouth Argyle 2
Reading 2
Sheffield Wednesday 2
Tottenham Hotspur 2
Watford 2
Wolves 2
Brighton & Hove Albion 1
Bristol City 1
Bristol Rovers 1
Crystal Palace 1
Exeter City 1
Hull City 1
Leicester City 1
Morecambe 1
Nottm Forest 1
Portsmouth 1
Southampton 1
Swindon Town 1
West Ham 1

Lucan's cool.

Had a lovely weekend in Auxerre & Paris with him a few weeks back and he was on good form at the game Sunday.

Good man.

Ah yes, he was likely down at the Big Top for Rianne Downey!

Think I'd largely agree with your reviews, albeit, I'm always happy for a bit more loud/noisy/shouty.

Had a great time as always, been going since 2011, and will be back next year.

Yes, we were down there for her too.

We went for the first time last year after having meant to for years and never got round to it. We enjoyed it so much, we came back again this year.

Now the big question is, did you get involved in the pegging?

My son took 50 pegs, and they were all gone by Saturday lunchtime! He may well have got you, but they were all a bit random, so couldn't tell you exactly what they looked like. The last few I did decide to do a bit of self-promotion and added my bands name to them.

It's a great little festival, albeit a bit of a trek from Suffolk! We also do Bearded Theory every year, which has a similar vibe. We're also off to Maui Waui tomorrow, which another great little festival, not too far to go, either.

I too would like to travel back to 1990. Genuinely think James are one of the most underrated bands of that era.

The 90s are alive and kicking (saw Simple Minds a couple of months ago..)

James are fantastic live. Seen them a few times, most recently touring with the god that is Johnny Marr.

coming up
Oasis Sep 1 - New Jersey
James - Sep 7 - Philadelphia
Pulp - sep 9 - Philadelphia
Morrissey - sep 23 - Philadelphia

I thought it was really weird how, after the Ariana Grande stadium gig attack in Manchester, there was a vigil in the city centre, and everyone was sat down together quietly.

And a lone voice started to sing a retro classic from a Creation band...

...and it wasn't "Sit Down" by James.

So much more appropriate.

Bumping this thread to give a shout out to the two Town fans I saw at We Have Ways Fest on Friday and Saturday. One in a current home shirt and the other in one of the Hawaiian shirts Harry Clarke sported so well after our promotion.
My Fisons beach towel was on display in the glamping area.

For those interested in such things it was the biggest and best WHW yet!

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
Poll: Which recent triallist should we have signed?

I saw 2 in Lanzarote last week. I gave a knowing nod and smile.
