For all the understandable complaints about troll threads... 11:34 - Aug 20 with 2133 views | pointofblue | It seems really quiet on here. It doesn't feel like the season has started and the club is obviously active in the transfer market. Very odd feeling all over.

For all the understandable complaints about troll threads... on 03:08 - Aug 21 with 300 views | Ryorry | Everyone on here is obviously perfectly at liberty to ignore all the hype, rumours, fake news by attention seeking NotITKers, Kieran & MA Knockers (yeah yeah, you know what I mean) - and to only get excited when new signings are in the building, holding up Town shirts in official photos. Or at least are given an "imminent" pin by Phil. As a course of action I recommend it, has served very well for the last 1/4 C or so.

For all the understandable complaints about troll threads... on 15:08 - Aug 20 by darkhorse28 | A troll thread seems now not to be defined as wilfull negativity, just to get a reaction. It’s now defined in here as anything that makes some emotionally crippled individuals, with attachment issues; feel bad. When repeating the owners statement of facts is trolling, then we probably need to set up an emotional support helpline. I get the emotional investment in our club and team, in owners, CEO’s and managers (unless they teach the heights of Alf and Bobby) it’s basically a cry for help: We can’t have debate and discourse, it’s just reductive, tribal, cult like nonsense. Facts like results, and ownership statements are discarded as mere conjecture.., a spell in the third division (where we measurably have spent almost no time in our history) held up as the standard to compare all progress. We don’t help ourselves. I’ve seen people destroyed on here.., just for stating simple and concerning facts, not one or two bad displays, but evidenced facts over a long period. That we can’t even discuss the clubs sake without people reducing it to hysterical name calling like troll, or Norwich fan, is so pathetic. It’s quiet, because the £100 million sales, poor window process, poor strategy, and the consequences, are obviously true. Not to say we still can’t be successful at this level.., but clearly you can’t operate as we do and be successful at the level above. We can’t have even a vague discussion around the issues. All because some people invested their entire personality and self esteem in Ashton and McKenna and bought the hype at its peak.., doesn’t make them bad or terrible, but they clearly aren’t at the level they promised fans and the owners, no disgrace, just now measurably true. That’s why it’s quiet. Doubt some of the n buckle daggers can even look in the mirror.., how do you defend ‘we don’t need to sell’ ‘this is progress’ when you then sell up to £10p million in talent, lose 7 of your best players, and sign ONE player who will be still contracted if we don’t go up. There’s fantasy .., and even the fairy tale fan club have to accept facts (eventually): or do they. I often wonder if they had such blind faith in Evans and Hurst .., I think they did. And that’s my issue. We should stand together, never be negative in a match day or dig individual players out (my opinion) but we need to talk about the big issues like ownership and strategy and where we want to be.., and it’s impossible in here. And those ignorant knuckle dragging highly emotionally invested. When they turn .., they’re 199% the other way and slaughtering everyone and everything at the tip of their voice! Ashton and McKenna will be worse than anything before it if it go’s wrong.., and that wine be true either. No discourse, no debate, serious facts ignored, and at the end of the window, if results are poor, and we are sold, sitting in lots of cash, they’ll blame everyone but the man in the mirror. At times this isn’t a forum. It’s a place where the emotionally vulnerable crave validation. ‘Mark ashton appreciation posts’ woukd define trolling in the context of the mast 18 months. You’d need to be blind deaf and dumb, to think this is a strategic master class. Mark woukd be long gone if McKenna wasn’t a talented coach.., and his coaching.., is as good as his management is bad.., we have such a senior management void it’s become a chasm. It’s all about the vibes though.., not the results, recruitment, finances, league table, tactics, or man management. Blub. Sorry .., I just don’t have another 22 years for people to work out Mark isnt the answer : )) |
But will being the TWTD forum Friedrich Nietzsche solve these problems or just give rise to more questions ?

For all the understandable complaints about troll threads... on 14:15 - Aug 20 by Guthrum | It's also the attitude of "player X isn't immediately outstanding, we have to buy more replacements". I'm thinking of Matusiwa, Ogbene having been out injured for ages, Akpom and Cajuste not being quite match-ready, Humphreys being worked into the senior squad and so on. |
Think this is a really good point. God forbid we give players time to adjust and bed in after length injury or being new to the club. The squad is in good shape, better than people would have you believe. Some seem to treat it like fantasy football where if a player isn't a 10/10 they want to swap them out immediately.

If you think this is poor strategy.and management from MA and KM then it's a wonder you didn't self combust during the nadir of Evans era. We got relegated after being promoted in successive seasons. We're going to compete for automatic promotion this season and be right up there. We're signing much stronger players than we were able to do even two years ago It's not Magical Vegas time anymore. Of course constructive criticism is useful and I'm sure KM and MA wouldn't say they have got everything right but 'Ashton and McKenna will be worse than anything before if it goes wrong' is one of the most bizarre takes I've seen on here and that's saying something. Simon Clegg all is forgiven apparently... [Post edited 21 Aug 7:04]

For all the understandable complaints about troll threads... on 11:45 - Aug 20 by FrimleyBlue | I personally miss the days where the local journos could announce a link that we could actively discuss rather than these x rumours by accounts with 50 followers. |
It is possible to just ignore rumours from X given that they are just rumours from X. Happy to help :-)

You're missing the point. It's not about seeing the rumours it's about being able to discuss the links the local journos would tell us about. Rather than random defenders from abroad or players agents are keen for us to be linked with. Most local journo links were those we actually were talking with so worth a discussion Imo.

Do local journos no longer put forward credible stories/links? I suspect they do exactly as they did before - the only difference is there is additionally a load of bobbins on X that is easily ignored. Means you (we) need to "sort the wheat from the chaff" or we end up in a pool where 90% is just agent fed nonsense and/or ITKs desperate for followers/views/likes on social media.

Not really no. The occasional 1 but most are now reports of reported links compared to historic twtd understands or eadt exclusive. Anyways had this chat many times so will leave it there. But it's a shame.
