Not sure 'what about-ism' is the win you think it is. I am sure many people were/are equally as upset and about those wars/ genocides as well... Desperate point to try to make.

It’s not about ‘isms’ including tribalism. It’s about remembering starving kids and adults everywhere - compassion doesn’t have to be limited. Anyway, I’m off to listen to Gorecki’s 3rd Symphony “Of Sorrowful Songs” at full blast on my metre high Linn speakers, which is about to start at the Proms and should get us all reflecting.

Where has anyone implied that compassion is limited? Please, tell me.

Oh, I am sorry for pointing out there are also problems in unfashionable places. Some on here need to get a grip on ALL the global events and treat them equally. Violent death is what it is, no matter where it happens. And it is always to be deplored. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Israel is, supposedly, our ally and a developed democracy. Right now, that ally and democracy, are intentionally starving children and bombing their land to rubble. This is happening with the consent of our biggest ally, the USA, and without international journalists being allowed to report it. FCK IsraeL and FCK America!! [Post edited 23 Aug 18:09]

Before the recent declaration of famine in Gaza City, only four Phase 5 famines (the highest level) had been declared by the International Food Security Phase Classification since it was established in 2004. https://www.ipcinfo.org/famine-facts/en/?embed=true If that isn't serious, I don't know what is, given that even Yemen has never met the Phase 5 threshold. What makes this even worse is that Israel, a country with so-called Western values, has obligations as the occupying power under the Fourth Geneva Convention to supply food to the population of Gaza. Interestingly, Sudan in 2024 is one of the countries where Phase 5 has been declared but in Sudan UN and other aid agencies aren't prevented by one of the combatants from providing any aid. A failure of humanity. on 10:21 - Aug 25 with 529 views | stickymockwell | In my humble opinion I can see too many similarities to the holocaust. Herding people together with no escape and killing them. Instead of gas and firing squads its bombs and now starvation. Potentially half of Palestinians could be wiped out and thats getting towards the same figures as European Jews. The uncomfortable truth for all Jewish people is the Israeli government are acting like Nazis.

Will there be anything left to recognise?
