Who’s the striker gonna be then? 17:42 - Aug 23 with 1185 viewsBlooos

Hirst isn’t good enough to be our number 9 all season, have to get someone better than him in the door this week, but who? Everyone seems to be struggling to get a striker in.

I mean we have two strikers who have been Champ top scorers in recent seasons…would be good to see them get utilised in their best roles.

Poll: How much did you actually think Mick would spend in January?

Is that the same Hirst who led the line in our last Championship season when we got promoted? Or a different one? I'm confused.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
Poll: Which recent triallist should we have signed?

He is decent but needs support, not sure if he will get it unless that’s Chubas role ?

The only Muff in Town.
Poll: Lamberts rotational policy has left us....

He didn’t though did he? He got injured and we brought kieffer in, hirst including coming off the bench multiple times played 26 games for us that season, so he missed 20 games.

Keiffer wasn’t a patch on Hirst

He only played half of the games that season and scored seven goals.

We are, desperate for a real centre forward to share minutes with Hirst no way he plays 35 plus games with out a injury.

Ivanovic if we have any ambition. But we don’t seem to be looking at him. He would be ideal. Good for helping/challenging Hirst.

And we had people here saying they preferred Hirst + AAH rather than Kyogo + Stansfield

Akpom better come good, needs to get up to speed asap

How many more times, neither of them play the Hirst type role. They aren’t that type of striker.

The same Hirst who only managed 7 goals that season? Wake up he isn’t a top striker and won’t score many goals.

Missed most of the second half of that season to injured. Hence we had to get Keifer in. Good job we did.

He has been totally infective this season against championship defences, he was dreadful last year when playing looked well out of his depth.

Didn’t say they did play that role. That role though isn’t going to fill the goals void we have following departures over summer. We need to be adapting to utilise SS and Akpom’s goalscoring abilities and utilise Hirst’s work rate late in games from bench.

Ivanovic and the Norwegian youngster have been mentioned . Both look like excellent options ......so what is happening , only a week to go and we are still without the striker we obviously need .

With Delap going early , why are we still without his replacement .

Our signings of wide players , Clark etc doesn't seem to have been good business , they seem lightweight , when we need battlers .

I got pelters for that last week.

But you’re correct.

Prepare yourselves for No new striker. Akpom is now plan b after the failure to secure a top level striker for loan to buy. AAH is plan c once he’s fit.

If by some magic it turns out another way we can all skip high with glee.

Maybe we will unearth a third Mexican league player whist our dashboard is tuned into Liga MX.
