The dark times were when we had an owner that had no interest in putting money in, and we had to watch the club slowly slide down the table into irrelevance. Our owners are still piling in money, we’ve got an exciting young manager who just got us back to back promotions. We have a young, exciting squad full of proven championship players and we are likely to be adding a few more signings in the next week.
This is about as far from the dark times as we could possibly be. Absolute worst case we spend another season in the championship building the squad strength and cohesion, while bringing through some younger players, before going up again. Worked out well for Leeds! | | | |

Regardless of your sleuthing, it would be a brave man to take a bet on 'us' as the outright winners on current evidence. This was simply my line of interrogation. Am I wrong? Do things not risk descending into farce at this point?

Farcical? No. The bookies don't have the emotional investment and will see our financial stock, manager, squad depth (yes, I know) and despite the slow start, will expect us to click at some point. We, on the other hand, are hoping to god we do because it all looks a bit disjointed currently. Three or four weeks time could look completely different and it really should do too. | |

Saints have had a sticky start, Leicester have won 2 but they have a points deduction coming (I presume), Sheff U have been a car crash, Brum fair enough.
We're not alone in looking undercooked at the moment. Leeds had a slow start that allowed us to forge ahead of them in 23/24 and coupled with their crapping the bed at QPR, cost them ultimately.
