I love travelling around the world as there are some fantastic places to visit and great cultures to learn about and thus this show is right up my street, but my debate here is will it end the same as it always does with all of these competitions for money?

Now after watching the first 2 shows my impressions were that Nick and Saskia were very strong. I had a feeling that Saskia would be kept in even if she had a bad round as she was pleasing on the eye to viewers. It is noted that they don't actually show you where they put all of the map positions, so the outcome was down to the producers. It was also fairly clear that Darren was not the sharpest tool in the box, but was a lovable character and thus he would be kept in as long as possible.
One thing that did concern me was Claire the Detective Sargent (very high up) in the police was useless at things that you would expect a cop to be good at.

Anyway. So Nick and Saskia are the two that should have one it from day 1 if all things were fair. But these things are not fair and are contrived to give the most unlikely outcomes. So out of the 4 that are left Saskia and Josh are the sharpest and thus that most probably means they will lose in a predictable twist. Darren has some good memory skills, but not much else. So that means that the winner must be Judith. She is reasonably clued up, but has not been given that much screen time. So for me she will be the winner. We haven't been to Portugal or Spain yet, so maybe that is where they end up? The most obvious place for it to finish is La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. But are they too far away from it? My second guess is most likely the Panthion in Rome or maybe even the popes house?

Gutted they didn't show more of the Matterhorn when they were there.

Who do you think will win and where will the final destination be?

If I unfocus on your words and stare long enough, is a list of our definite signings visible like a magic eye picture?

Laughably bad programme which I very much doubt will get a second series? The episode in the middle, where they totally deviated from the regular format, smacked of producers panicking as they realised that what they’d filmed so far was a load of rubbish!

Not sour grapes by the way - I’ve got all the destinations right so far bar the opening episode, and I was at least in the right country for that one.

Cheers,
JK

Was a recommendation from a friend as I’ve traveled quite extensively, but I only managed just over ten minutes of the first episode, might need to give it another go.

It’s been a success for the BBC and a second series has been commissioned.

Yes I think I agree. It's more about the people than the locations. A bit like the race across the world. I was crazy that they missed so many great locations when they did Canada.

It would be better if each episode was much longer so we could see what really happens. They just put all the confrontational rubbish in it. I'd much rather see people working together.

there'll be civil war from the usual suspects, if they don't end it in clacton (or perhaps gibraltar)!

it's quite fun, but brydon is the only really likeable one in it. the games make it total pot luck, so can't realistically predict a winner it could be any of the 4...

Quite enjoyed what I’ve seen of it. Nick comes across as being quite intelligent but very smug. Was funny hearing his excuses when he didn’t win one if he challenges - hope he doesn’t end up winning.

As I said, quite liked what I’ve seen of it.

I watched an episode and a half and gave up. It seems like it was designed by algorithm: a bit of Traitors, a bit of Race across teh World, a bit of big brother psychodrama in a confined space, a bit of Brydon comedy. and this kind of algorithmic culturemaking does not make for good work, just formulaic and boring imv.

I think they will end up in Rome. They keep showing the all roads lead to Rome diagram and Audrey Hepburn (Roman Holiday) pictures.

Very poor show I think though.

They wasted one whole show having a competition in Venice to win dinner with a loved one they hadn't seen in a week.

Very likeable chap, but can't see it myself. Or is he really playing the big game?

Not sure who'll win, but Blinky is normally the front runner....

You are the obsolete SRN4 to my Fairey Rotodyne....
