Just been watching them, they are so aggressive, direct, strong and fast.

Almost like they know they won’t out football teams in the PL, so have tried to think outside of the box

They are having a good go , as are Leeds and Burnley to be fair - just find it annoying as we should’ve been more like that . Relegation acceptable but by 18 points or whatever it was ? Sunderland getting results makes it look even worse

We went into the EPL playing a brand of football that the rest of that league play, played at a slower tempo and with lesser players. No real surprise in the outcome last season.

Two home wins already for the Mackems, what must that feel like? I know some will highlight the start we had in the EPL with Liverpool and Manchester City, but we play all the other sides at some point and we were found wanting against them.

We’ve not won a league game at home since we beat Chelsea 2-0, on 30th December 2024!!! Let that sink in for a moment.

Yep. Noticed this when they beat West Ham.

We played both Everton and West Ham when they were in relegation form and their respective mangers were on the verge of the sack. We were out coached, out fought and out classed in both games.

So far Leeds and Sunderland have shown far more attacking endeavour than we did. Their striker isn’t isolated and they weren’t playing square balls around the midfield before running out of ideas and passing back to their defenders.

Like it or not you have to admit that our recruitment was $hite last season.

Le Bris with his French / European connections has managed to sign much better players for less than what we did.

I don’t see them having a problem with “gelling” as well

If they stay up questions will be asked of McK and MA

They were in L1 just a season before us remember

We purchased the best individuals from the championship, with one eye (I suspect) on a return to the championship… yet ironically they now look to be a bit lost in that same league.

Look at their winning goal, exactly the type of early delivery into the box that Leif should be doing, but we rarely cross from that position as we presumably consider it to be too deep.

We seem to want to engineer the perfect cut back from the by-line everytime and yet seldom do we manage it. We need far more variety to our play when teams set out with a low block, hopefully this is something we will be working on.

Hit the nail on the head…, everything McKenna team isn’t.

We had one style…, and ZERO of the nasty stuff.

I guess when we had Sam in the EFL and the core leadership group, they did that for McKenna, and he doesn’t get how important it is, I don’t think he ever did.

A Warnock side would bully this group about 5-0

A Mick side would beat us…, 14/15 would trounce this group all day long and twice on Sundays.

McKenna has one solution to every problem. And if it’s between the ears and not a coaching session, it’s lost on him 100%.

No great surprise to me, that’s how to recruit a team that has chance and then adapt and play like it.

They were an average champ team last year as well.

Not like they spent 3x as much as us either, in fact if you look at some of the players they got for less than a few of ours on display yesterday it’s tough to take. Not sure where Herb is to tell us to give our heads a wobble though!
