Kieran stressed patience when talking about him yesterday. The Omari comparison made elsewhere in the thread is a good reference point. Omari hadn't played a senior game when he came here whereas Egeli's only played in the Danish league, which isn't particularly strong. |

Not sure that McAteer was a replacement for Ogbene as such, they're not like-for-like. Last season Kieran was talking about Ogbene and Burns as similar players and I think that's a fair comparison, pacey and direct. I don't think McAteer is quite the same, KMc likes players with different attributes for different games. |  | | |

I find it all rather bemusing to be honest. So many players, so much change, different options depending on the opposition, needing at least two players for each position, having 10 players for the 4 attacking roles, players having to be happy to get “minutes” etc etc.
It must be a nightmare to manage.
When I was a player I’d want to play. Every game. All game. Every week. Whoever the opposition was.

I meant to say only goal we've scored from open play, Southampton was an own goal. I thought he played the key role in that goal. Not really sure he can be judged on what we've seen of him as he's played so rarely. Can see the logic of sending him out to get games to come back fully up to speed.

I just don't feel comfortable with us signing players for x million just cos someone is injured. We have loads of options in those wide roles yet no one producing the goods. At some point we gave to stop buying people and get the ones in situ to produce | | | |
