Seeing how neither Walton nor Palmer are assured enough in starting our possession or just following the play really. Palmer takes so long on the ball and then just passes it to nearest player to get out of his personal trouble, while Hladky used to invite oppo players intentionally to create space. Also, remember how he used to stay high up? Will never forget his one-touch cushion to Morsey away at Middlesbrough.
Would you bring back Hladky for a season long loan? on 20:01 - Aug 31 by Nutkins_Return
No. Good as he was with his feet he was a flapper and could dominate his area. An upper L1/Lower champ keeper. Put him in a mid champ team and he'd be letting in a lot of goals.
Even when we went up he was an absolutely clear weak link (not in possession - he was brilliant on that front). History is being re-written in Hladky.
In over 50 years of supporting Town I've only ever seen all 4 stands in the ground rise for a standing ovation when a keeper makes a save. That was against Plymouth where he made a fantastic double save.
This saved us from defeat in the run in for promotion
Hladky was brilliant the season we went up, and with the players in that team at the time such as Morsy. I don't think he would be the same again. We need to get the best out of the (big money) signings we have, that is our challenge now.

Sorry but his errors in a lot of games - what lot of games can you tell? I'm not saying he was perfect, he made an odd error here or there, but in a lot of games?
You lot have short memories, there was quite a bit of whinging about him through the promotion season.
But its the same way as Wolfie becomes better than Greaves and OShea with every game he doesn't play. (And before you attack, I love Woolfie).
If we were scoring goals, nobody would say a word about Palmer.... oh and I dont think any of our midfielders have the skill or strength to take the ball from the keeper like our departed Captain did.
Everyone's become uber critical (i was there yesterday and the team frustrated the fuk out of me). A few decent results and hopefully everyone will calm the fcuk down.

I'm really surprised we've not upgraded the GKs this summer but perhaps we have too much money tied up in that area to risk trying to change it around (again). But Palmer's best game in a Town shirt was his first and it's been a slow slide ever since. I've not seen anyone questioning his work for the Brewster goal yesterday but his body shape to get down to the ball just seemed very odd. Gotta spread yourself so much better there. Instead he almost dives over the ball. Was a pretty weak shot and PL keepers make that save look simple (IMO).
