As cover for Delap due to injury. Imagine if we had him on loan and CFC asked us no way would we be in a position to say OK. Maybe CFC have said he can go back in Jan and Sunderland think they have enough until then?

I thought Jacksons transfer was cancelled?
They said on MOTD that Jackson was in Munich already and his agent had said he’s not heading back. Maybe they thought it’s just easier to stick to that deal and get their big loan fee.

Yeah think Jackson and agent were refusing to come back as Jackson not part of plans so I think they asked Chelsea for other alternatives, so I guess cancelling Guiu loan was one. I think they had been looking at Sporting attacker Conrad Harder as well.
Guessing Guiu coming back means Jackson will sign at Bayern but read Chelsea wanted it to be permanent rather than a loan.

Sky saying the Jackson deal is 100% off and that they want Harder from Sporting to replace Delap while he is injured.

There's apparently no recall in the Guiu deal. They'll have to get Sunderland's agreement for him to return.
I think it looks more likely Jackson won't be going on loan but cancelling the Guiu loan would depend on the clauses involved and not whether the loaning club agrees to it. It would have been a risk if that was a possibility. I would imagine the same would be true of our actual loans but suspect there would only be windows in which a recall could be activated.

Ben Jacobs and Nicolo Schira already reporting the agreement in place with Sunderland to cancel the loan and he is returning to Chelsea.
And Bayern now called off the Jackson loan so Chelsea could end up with Jackson and Guiu back ... what a mess. Have to feel sorry for players CFC just using as pawns.

They must have agreed to it....
Latest from Sky Sports News' Kaveh Solhekol and Dharmesh Sheth:
Marc Guiu is set to return early from his loan at Sunderland to give Enzo Maresca more forward options while Liam Delap recovers from a hamstring injury.
Well you'd imagine either a) Sunderland have been handsomely compensated or b) They've realised Guiu isn't up to it and are relieved at the chance to try again?

I always loved Kayden but never realised he was that good!
