But to not have that option seems so daft imo. I know we have other options. But we don't know how wes will return. And one injury to mcateer and we are back to using clarke on the right.

We have Egeli, McAteer, Burns and then Clarke and Philogene at a pinch. Think we're fine in that position.

I think it is more about Ogbene's recovery. He's 28 and needs to be playing regularly to get back to the level he was at pre-injury. The squad we now have would have limited his playing time, 20 mins here and there are not what he needs. I wonder whether this is a similar conversation that was had with other players about what is best for them considering where they sit in the pecking order. At least that is my read on it . . .
Chiedozie Ogbene is sound. on 18:30 - Sep 5 with 1316 views | Cafe_Newman | He has learned more about the realities of life during his time out injured and his work in the community than most footballers ever learn. I hope he stays fit and is back in our squad as soon as his contract with the Blades allows. Huge credit to the Town medical staff and management for helping Chieo take these steps in his life, potentially to the significant benefit of a rival club. There's some good people at our club who realise that life is bigger than football. [Post edited 5 Sep 18:32]

Surprised me it wasn't a half-season loan the way Kieran was speaking about it after the Derby match, and then that there was no recall. Perhaps it was the only way a deal could get done. A move to Sheffield seems to suit him as he's been based there for some time, so he may well have been set on that once their interest emerged.

Disagree with you personally. For me he's 4th choice in that role when Wes is back, although I accept your reservations about his fitness. He needs to play regularly to get over his injury and he simply isn't going to do that here

As well as being hugely proud it has reaffirmed that making positive connections with others is what really matters.

I dare say we are, but I think the decision to loan out Ogbene without a recall, coupled with stocking up in that position, is an indication that Kieran has moved on from Ogbene. Clearly he's had a horror injury, but a season long loan isn't a traditional way of getting back up to speed. And when he comes back, he'll have not one but potentially 3 or even 4 players ahead of him who each cost over £10m (Egeli, McAteer, Philogene and JClarke).
