This is absolutely the right decision. Selling tickets at £300 a pop to a private school whilst fans who go every week can’t get a ticket

Right decision - bought through a resale platform that is not allowed. Need to treat them the same as anyone else buying the tickets. The school really should have checked the authenticity of their purchase

Over 100,00 members in the queue for tickets and 40 odd end up at a school, doesnt sound right.. Rightly cancelled the tickets and cancelled several hundred season tickets.

Anyway, what kind of school buys dozens of tickets at £300 a pop from an unapproved provider?

The kind of school staffed by people who went to the kind of school where entitlement is inoculated into every fibre of their being.

Good to see them served a large dose of "No, you'll just have to wait in a queue like everyone else" with their Sourdough Ciabbatta toast for breakfast this morning.

That nearly made me choke on my kefir and apricot stone kernels.

Right decision as these should go to Newcastle fans but the school was actually selling them onto the students as part of a trip-away package and had done so previously. Extract below.

It is believed that the High School of Dundee were selling the tickets to students for £295 apiece, which included travel, accommodation and meals alongside the matchday ticket. A similarly large group of pupils from the school also attended Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat to AC Milan in December 2023, their last Champions League outing, with the school maintaining that on both occasions the tickets were bought as part of a 'group package" via an "approved provider.'

Nothing to do with class. This is a huge game and they bought tickets from touts. If it was us we would be livid and praising the club.

Truly impaired.

All of those members in the queue should plainly have priority. If the club wants to, and can, hold back some tickets for local schools with genuine fans, to encourage the next generation, then great (as long as that is not a breach of members' rights under their membership scheme).

I'm not bothered whether it's a private school or not, it's a school in Scotland which is hundreds of miles from Newcastle. They have dozens of league teams closer, and several teams in the Champions League. It's daft.

Unauthorised reselling is unauthorised reselling. Hard to make any exceptions to this rule once this case had been publicised, and given that these kids are hardly Newcastle fans, there's no incentive to make exceptions.

I’d hope we’d do the same.

Poll: Right, we’ve all slept on it. Let’s settle this?
