Parking tonight 08:28 - Sep 12 with 718 viewstownblue

Where would be best to park tonight that won't be a total nightmare or cost a fortune? Don't mind a bit of a walk.

Gatwick?

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?

Not sure whether they are in effect tonight, but there were road closures placed around the ground after the Derby game that meant traffic in the immediate vicinity of Portman Road was gridlocked. I'd look into that and park outside of that region.

I guess you know Bramford Lane then, a few of the roads off to the side on the left as you approach Chevalier Street can be good for a place.

I did consider this but driving in and then having to get on a rammed train feels like the worst of both worlds.

For a night game, after 6PM, Ranelagh road is free and a short walk through the flats car park and over the Sir Bobby foot bridge to the ground.

Guess it depends on what your definition of costing a fortune is, I come in from the west and use Crown Pools car park, it’s fairly easy to escape from there out past Christchurch park after the game and parking for 4 hours is around £6 which I see as reasonable

Depends what time you're likely to arrive but Brooks Hall Road or the streets around it that run between Bramford Road and Norwich Road are generally OK if you're an hour prior to kick off. Free and 15 minute walk to the ground. Easy to get away from if you're going West as well down Bramford Road.

My old man normally parks around there, failing that he'll head up somewhere off Tuddenham Road and have a slightly longer walk. If you're happy with a 20 minute walk to the ground there's generally plenty of places, and by the time you're back at the car the traffic is a little better so doesn't tend to make much difference to when he gets home.
