If you're concerned about it, just pop a jumper or a jacket over the top. You'll be far from the only person (outwardly, at least) using the train for non-footballing purposes.
Otherwise take a look at the train times, and get yourself onto one of the services that stops at Diss and Stowmarket. I seem to recall that GA operate one or two services on derby days that run direct from Norwich to Ipswich in order to minimise the perceived risk of the fans mingling. | |

Would I be right in saying that you will have more difficulty accessing a train heading to Norwich after the match having been in the home end? I guess that if you are happy to wait around before going back it would be fine. |  |

I'm pretty sure I've had no issue training it back up to Norwich post-match in the past. Although that will have been pre-2019.
I assume they still have the two 'lanes' leading back up to the station, which then disgorge everyone out into the station in a bit of a free-for-all? Given that the Norwich trains depart from Platform 3, with the Cambridge/Bury/Peterborough services departing from Platform 4, I can see that it would be a hell of a job stopping Town fans from accessing Platform 3. | |

They (the police) usually funnel the Norwich fans into the station through the side entrance these days but there has been occasions where they’ve blocked the front entrance to stop others getting in until they’ve cleared unless you can prove you’re not a football fan and just a ‘normal’ member of the public 
There’s usually an empty special football train waiting for the away fans so tends to clear pretty quickly. |  |

Anyway, back to the point in question, they have an empty football special on platform 2, ready for Norwich fans to jump on as they enter the station from a side entrance. This way they then have the ability to section off the stairway for fans departing elsewhere to access platform 3 3b 4 etc that way. |  |

While we are on the subject of trains to the Norwich game we were on the last train from Lowestoft before the match last time we played them.
It was standing room only by the time we got to Beccles.
It filled up entirely at Halesworth and Darsham. So much so that there train did not stop at Saxmundham, Wickham, Melton and Woodbridge. Understandably this caused mayhem on each platform as we sailed through. |  | | |
