6 / 8 / 10 11:32 - Sep 19 with 3131 views | WolfieAtTheBack | Given the riches in squad would there be a line up where Nunez would start as a 10 and interchange with Cajuste throughout the game between the 8 and 10 roles? Not sure about SS, in saying that he will likely score Saturday to annoy them.

My thoughts exactly, KM mentioned Cajuste played for Napoli as a 10 so you never know.

6 / 8 / 10 on 12:04 - Sep 19 with 2873 views | itfcjoe | But you need strong back ups etc, so whilst would be good to see them on pitch in many ways together it would mean that if any of them isn't fit, or needs a rest then we have to change the system to accomodate things. If we had Liam Delap and George Hirst still we wouldn't be going 2 up top to get 2 good players on - our superpower needs to be that when Cajuste/Nunez has run themselves into the ground for 65 mins then we have the other one to come on and turn the screw further

Nunez is better deployed dictating play from slightly further out, including the delivery of set pieces. In any case there is a lot of room for opportunism in the Ipswich setup. Players are not forbidden from going forward - and shooting - if chances are there.

I forgot about Akpom, some squad assembled right enough.

I keep forgetting some of the players we have bought. And I was in a mild panic pre season about everything. Silly me | | | | Login to get fewer ads

There's so much obsession about 'starting XI' or 'best team' when for at least four years (in this part of the world anyway) we should have been aware that it's about 14-16 players contributing equally over the course of a game - and twenty plus of a squad of twenty five contributing over a season. As you say that's the basis for our superpower, together with our very strong squad, and while a lot of Town fans get it now there's still an annoying number who don't - along with a lot of fans of other clubs of course.

6 / 8 / 10 on 09:26 - Sep 20 with 736 views | darkhorse28 | Nunez has the guile and nasty element for the double pivot. Jens has lost the ball cheaply in key areas about four times this season, Nunez is just better at the role. It’s a bit odd we have so many talented 8’s and we play a double pivot…, but suspect it will be Jens who makes way or moves forward where his quality in the ball would shine. Jens already showing signs of fragility too.., so it likely won’t be an issue.., might not be a major problem .., long old season. We should played a 3 based on our talented 8’s but not sure I’ve seen KM try it…, we do seem a collection of very talented players, not really signed to fit a system…; KM Is wanting to coach players into a system might be his downfall. Will say this though …, Nunez is outstanding…, he’ll be player of the year in my opinion or close with Mats and maybe Philogene (who really offers zero without the ball but is hugely talented). We won’t have success if Nunez doesn’t start longer term. We seriously lack the qualities he has.

Yes Nunez is great, you must be gutted that he left your mob to take a step up in his career.

Some suggested we might play Delap wide to accommodate him and Hirst together. McKenna didn't and would have needed another good striking option off the bench to have seriously considered it, I am sure.
