Greaves a calamity defender 18:43 - Sep 20 with 2238 viewsonceablue

Can’t read the game and therefore always making desperate tackles and headers.

What did we pay for him.

Burgess such a better all round player

Right, it’s not under 9s football FFS, no one is actively booing him in the stands are they, they’re commenting on a message board. He needs to step up! Went for huge money had some PL experience and hasn't look assured stepping back down a division, to a level he should be excelling at.

It's backed up by the stats. Had a MOTM performance at Derby and has been the better of the two CBs in most games.

Constructive comment though.

Being the better of the two CB (which itself is arguable but also not exactly a high bar) doesn’t equate to being the most consistently good player in the squad. Of the 4 CB’s we had last season it’s slightly mad to me that the two best ones aren’t here anymore.

He's just turn 25. BH es already better than Burgess but certainly doesn't have the maturity of Burgess yet.

Burgess amhad an absolutely torrid time when he first joined. He was considered a poor buy by just as many fans (at £750k) as Greaves is now. Almost like CBs need a bit of time to form partnerships, mature and find there best form in a team.

He's more than proven at this level. He is a championship team of the year player and was outstanding for Hull.

A quality player in the making if not the complete article yet.

I tell you what night help him.....a bit of support.

As someone said on another thread recently though, there comes a time when we should be sticking with the quality we have spent time & money developing, instead of immediately moving them on and replacing them with another 'to be developed but still raw' player.

If we want promotion again, we need points & players capable of helping us get those points for *now*, not for some hypothetical future position which with this 'business model' (I assume that's the rationale behind it) we might never achieve going along this path.
