EFL = Evidently Flipping Lame 15:20 - Sep 23 with 1416 views | BrayBlue | It is absolutely ridiculous that the EFL have taken this long to decide what should happen following Saturday’s abandonment. What is the hold-up? What are they waiting on? Just get it done. Cheers, JK
EFL = Evidently Flipping Lame on 15:55 - Sep 23 with 1230 views | hype313 | They've probably got Blackburn in one ear and Ashton in the other, the trouble is their laws are quite ambiguous, so they've created a rod for their own back.

EFL = Evidently Flipping Lame on 15:59 - Sep 23 with 1191 views | Guthrum | What's the great rush? It doesn't affect anything in practical terms at this stage. I expect there's a lot of admin to work through in setting up a replay (both clubs, the police, transport, met office).

They really haven't - it's not even a difficult decision. It's unlucky on Blackburn, but that's all it is, just like a bad refereeing call or a fluke goal. Any decision other than replaying would be absolutely ludicrous.
EFL = Evidently Flipping Lame on 16:19 - Sep 23 with 1085 views | bsw72 | No rush, make sure the right decision is made. I would imagine the EFL board has to schedule a meeting which this will be on, and the board are full of busy people. Things take time.

EFL = Evidently Flipping Lame on 17:37 - Sep 23 with 655 views | Everydayblue | I'm wondering if this situation is unprecedented, given the Greaves red card ? Maybe they need to add a new ruling for such situations, to justify whatever decision they make?

EFL = Evidently Flipping Lame on 18:12 - Sep 23 with 468 views | Bellevue_Blue | Totally agree, I suspect it's just a case of trying to hear both sides of the story. As I see it it's pretty cut and dry. Blackburns pitch prevented a 90 minute football game being played so therefore that match should be played again at a time where they can fulfil their obligation to host an entire football match. They have already set the precedent with the 2023 example where Cardiff were 1-0 vs Rotherham in a game that got called off in the 83rd minute. The matter was referred to the EFL board, who reviewed submissions from both clubs and stated. "In considering matters such as these, the league seeks to adopt consistency with previous occurrences where fixtures have been abandoned for weather-related reasons and could not be restarted"

It really is either a replay in full, which the law implies and offers the simplest resolution or the game awarded as a win to Blackburn, which is not what the law has as an option and clarification needed to understand the conditions of awarding the result in this retrospectively and for the future. Anything else is purely making the rules up as you go along. In front of a crowd or not? Replay 10 minutes, what do you do about time added on? 11-v-10 for a whole game or 10mins + or 11 -v- 11 until the same time Greaves was sent off ? It’s just not an option otherwise a whole raft of conditions will have to be ratified, applied in arrears and applied going forward. Should be simple. I too would be hacked if in Blackburns position, but the rules are the rules.

EFL = Evidently Flipping Lame on 20:04 - Sep 23 with 178 views | Pinewoodblue | We could be in for a long wait. Two years ago following a medical emergency in the stands Orient fans took the law unto their hands and there was a sit down on the pitch. The game was abandoned but it took almost two weeks for EFL to decide the game should be replayed.

EFL = Evidently Flipping Lame on 20:09 - Sep 23 with 146 views | TMWWNGAS | Surely it's pretty obvious for the integrity of the league it's replayed... Look at it from Blackburns side... say the result stands and they miss out on promotion/ get relegated by 1 goal... if those extra 10 mins (plus added on time) were played they might have scored. As it wasn't completed as per the FA it should be replayed in full..
