Not sure what to make of that 06:57 - Oct 1 with 608 views | Dyland | We are very hot in streaks but equally very sloppy. Do we overplay it? Can't help thinking we look a little Arsenal lite. And I don't mean that as a compliment. Can we be quicker and more direct? The left side is very tricksy and can do that I guess. Aye it's a point away against a decent team, and we're two points per game since "switching on" (hopefully). But patchy, I'd say. Can we defend better? Another corner goal. Feels a bit like we're gifting goals? Not sure why I'm a bit deflated it wasn't a bad performance.

It's great that no-one, even Boro, are streaking away, and if you take a view beyond the last or next game, it;s very much glass half full for this rapidly developing team for me.

Not sure what to make of that on 07:53 - Oct 1 with 417 views | Churchman | Not seen it yet. There is an element of over playing it from the games I have seen. Is that because players are still finding or looking for each other? I think so but it may be the balance isn’t quite right yet. Don’t know. Patchy is a good description. Defensively, we’ve always had errors in us under McKenna. Should we be better than that? I think so with the quality of players there, including Furlong who is not spectacular but is very solid. You need that. I’d leave the defence well alone, injuries aside. I’m neither deflated, happy or anything else. A but ‘non’ I guess. Bristol C are not a bad side, but felt it was an opportunity for us to really break into the season following Saturday’s win. But a draw away to anyone is never a bad result, especially this early.. Watching them against Pompey, the latter were playing pretty much on their limit of ability and early season energy to hang on to us. They played as a team. From an ability perspective or ceiling our potential is a lot higher as you’d expect given who we’ve brought in. I think we have a promising team and squad for this level when it truly comes together. I understand from his comments why he made so many changes last night. Made sense from a number of perspectives, but I still think it was too many, but then I’m a bit old fashioned when it comes to settled sides and all that jazz.

Not sure what to make of that on 08:01 - Oct 1 with 385 views | Herbivore | We look nice on the eye at times but we aren't creating enough good chances in our hot spells. Up to conceding a poor opener, we were dominating the ball and playing it around nicely but I don't think we mustered a single serious effort at goal. After the equaliser we could have pushed on for the win but aside from them nearly scoring an own goal and Hirst planting a header over when he should have hit the target, we didn't create too much. At times we were so sloppy, it led to their goal and to most of their other chances. I feel a bit flat because we commit loads of bodies forward, so many that when our sloppiness kicks in we're immediately in big trouble at the back, and yet we look like we could play for days without scoring (away from home at least, been better at home on that front). That's not a recipe for a team that's going to finish top 2.

A few posters have used the word "clicking" and that's a better term than "gelling". A team can have great individuals but never truly click and of course, teams can also have no particular standout players but be more than the sum of their parts. I think I feel a bit meh about last night cos I'd hoped we were now clicking more consistently, and we just ain't. The big caveat is, as ever, that there's another team on the pitch. And the Robins are pretty decent tbf.

In the second half it all looked a little Lambertesque at times. An awful comparison but you get the point!

Not sure what to make of that on 08:05 - Oct 1 with 378 views | Lamp | I’m with you brother. Bristol’s counter attacking threat was very good and on balance I think a draw was the right result. What I find incredible is that we’ve only managed to get an attacking throw in on the right ONCE (which was last night) in the entire time Furlong has been here. You can bet your mortgage if we played against a team he played for we’d face at least 5! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Not sure what to make of that on 08:11 - Oct 1 with 338 views | MattinLondon | I think not only do we overplay it with most players taking too many touches but, we’re also play far too slowly. I know that it’s hard to play fast for all of the 90mins but we just seem far too lethargic.

Yeah, sadly I'm getting some vibes in that direction. Slow and ponderous trying to play out. Dare I say it, but a bit clueless. The silver lining is we could turn in some fairly similar performances under both out L1 and Championship promotion seasons, so there's hope that we can progress despite not playing great. We need to find a way to regain that ability to force a win. Although we did rescue points against Birmingham and Derby, so again that's a positive. In 23/24 it was games like last night where we'd find a way to a late winner (although literally in that game we scored early and held on to the lead).
