Rewatching the game currently 18:34 - Oct 5 with 2101 views | bluefunk | and without the nerves involved watching live, it’s pretty clear, even in the pretty even first half where they were at their best, we were simply much better, moving the ball with much more purpose when we went forward, even though we weren’t as fluent as we would like. Their only threats (and not major ones) came from a couple of turnovers and set pieces, even the goal was a deflection. That said we really do need to cut out the habit of gifting the opposition a goal.

Corners and self inflicted wounds apart they were unlikely to trouble us. We were clearly better when stuck in second gear…..as soon as we stepped it up we were far too much for them.

Most this season have been cheap, and while I’ve not seen it back but we won the 1st ball this time, shot went through a few bodies and took a deflection. Bit unfortunate IMO but will watch it again.

Yes that was a bit harsh, although OShea will probably feel he could have headed clear.
Rewatching the game currently on 19:41 - Oct 5 with 1358 views | BloomBlue | A better performance all-round. But still too slow sometimes moving the ball out of defence which gives the opposition time to get back into formation. Some partnerships still need time. Furlong had a sound game, didn't really give them anything down our right. But on more than one occasion he moved forward with O'Shea expecting him stay still/or the reverse with the ball going out for a throw. But that understanding will come. I thought Norwich only had one game plan, especially in the 1st half, which was basically let Cajuste have the ball and then pinch the ball when he does his normal pivot and turn. Don't think you can call the Norwich goal a gift, the players had to attack the ball, Norwich player to be fair connected perfectly with the ball and it deflected.

Tbf to him he did head it and azor probably wasn't supposed to be in his space at that moment which wouldn't have helped. But fair play to azor too he wasnt afraid to stick his head at the ball despite it being volleyed straight at him.. one of those how your luck moment really.

And hard did Hurst and Szmodics run compared to anything they had. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Rewatching the game currently on 20:37 - Oct 5 with 1041 views | Coastalblue | They looked like a collection of journeyman and hopeful punts who had no balance across their side and were mostly praying for their fading star up top to get them out of trouble but didn't seem to know how to get the ball to him. I think they'll be solid enough to occupy lower mid table, but have they got the finances or appetite for another rebuild to inject some creativity or are they going to settle, like we did for so long being a competent mid table Champ side? I think they've got too much to worry about the lower end, but are devoid of things that might get them in the upper end.

Too slow. Yes and no. If we analyse why we are sometimes slow playing out...its because of the opposition. Norwich, today, played a high block, their press was not the first or even second ball, their press was mainly when the ball was played into midfield. The reason we turned possession over was because of that block then press. So, it was difficult to playvthe ball earlier as Norwich were not only marking tightly but committing additional players to that midfield press. Hence the ball being played across the back four. So, yes, we were slow at times but there's a reason and a good one we didn't rush. Once we started turning their defence, they didn't defend as high, the gaps in midfield started to show and we started to play through the lines much more effectively. Playing quicker wasn't the answer today. Playing smarter, stretching the play, turning the defenders so they ended up sitting deeper worked a treat.

Yes. Absolutely this. Trying to draw them out to create space between and behind the press. The 'stop messing about just hoof it' brigade have clearly paid no attention to anything McKenna has been doing the last four years.

Im talking more about not using the players who are making good runs quickly enough. Twice in the first half a Town player had run into space it just required a ball down the right, but it was played sideways. The player then has to come back into an onside position. I don't mind the playing out from the back, im not asking for a hoof, its missing good opportunities to stretch the oppo by playing it quicker from the back when players are making intelligent runs into space. KM clearly has those players making those runs but we're not moving the ball quickly enough sometimes
Rewatching the game currently on 23:15 - Oct 5 with 544 views | itfcsuth | Better team won today - our most complete performance of the season, but still levels to climb through I think. Norwich were very poor, offered very little by way of attacking threat. Derby emotions aside, it was a pretty comfortable routine home win.
