Season Ticket Waiting List 16:06 - Oct 15 with 1264 views | 92_Laces | The waiting list is open to supporters who were club members in either the 2023/24 or 2024/25 seasons and have now renewed for 2025/26. All supporters who sign up will be randomly placed in the queue following the closure of the ballot, with this order then used to allocate the opportunity to purchase a season ticket as and when they become available [Post edited 15 Oct 16:07]

Season Ticket Waiting List on 16:44 - Oct 15 with 1072 views | Matt_Netherlands | So someone who has been to 0 games over the last three seasons could be ahead of someone who has been to 40+ home games over that period? Seems fair… Surely there’s a better way to order the list, starting with those who have made most effort to attend home matches - like we do for away games?

Does that maybe point to the fact there aren't likely to be many. If you had a waiting list with 3k people on it and only 50 season tickets coming available a ballot maybe makes more sense than a list?

Season Ticket Waiting List on 16:54 - Oct 15 with 992 views | swede | It would be good to know if they are increasing the number of season tickets for 2026/27 or will there only be a few available for those on the waiting list from those fans who have not renewed?
Season Ticket Waiting List on 17:07 - Oct 15 with 948 views | jungleboy | It would have been much fairer, and quite straightforward, to ask for membership for the three seasons 2023-4, 2024-5 and 2025-6. The Town should have first done a consultation with fans on ideas for a fair system.

No it’s an ordered list, but it’s a ballot to be randomly allocated a place. “All supporters who sign up will be randomly placed in the queue following the closure of the ballot, with this order then used to allocate the opportunity to purchase a season ticket as and when they become available.” | | | | Login to get fewer ads

You can also bet your bottom dollar that to remain n the waiting list you have to buy a membership every year, with little to no chance that any will come available in the next few years if we go back back up or finish in the play offs
Season Ticket Waiting List on 18:11 - Oct 15 with 748 views | ParisBlue | I expect one goal of this is to gauge demand, maybe in advance of stadium expansion. Disappointing its random (but not unexpected given how they implemented the membership last season). Slightly surprised they didn't require a small fee to register, perhaps refundable on purchase,, as that would deter tyre kickers. Any long-term casual supporters have been given a bit of a raw deal over the last couple of years (ie since we got good again). Norwich allow members to nominate a preferred match to get priority on, which is an advance on the ballot. Be interesting where we are in 4-5 years, established in the PL or yo-yoing, or non-parachute team in the Championship.

Season Ticket Waiting List on 19:21 - Oct 15 with 614 views | Dennyx4 | Just a few points. 1) It will give the club a really good indication on future potential season tickets, which will enable a good understanding for any increase in capacity. Also will give a good indication on whether prices can be increased. The two may not go hand in hand, but will help the supply v demand debate. The club may already have an idea on possible numbers. 2) There is probably a fairer way than just giving a random number to anyone who applies. A bit more thought on how many years has the person been a member, how many games have they attended in the past 3 seasons, to help to prioritise an order. Maybe a consideration for under 11s, that parents are already season ticket holders? 3) It has taken a long time for the waiting list to arrive, which may indicate that it is not thought that many will become available in the next few seasons. 4) In general, it shows that the club are in the best position, that it has been for a considerable time.

It's done on those who have had memberships over the last few years which seems fair to me

It’s not though, is it? Person A: Had a membership in the prem season and this season. Not purchased a single match ticket over that time. Randomly allocated 1st place on the waiting list. Person B: Had a membership for the past three seasons, bought tickets for every home game and spent the best part of £1,000 in the process. Randomly allocated position 999 on the waiting list.

It’s hard to be completely fair and even handed - there will always winners and losers. Basing it on tickets bought last season is far from fair (and I say that as someone who did manage to secure 2 tickets for all but 3 home games last season), since buying tickets was a lottery. In your example A, the person may just have been incredibly unlucky, having tried to queue for tickets for every home game, but not been allocated a queue position high enough for any to be left by the time their turn to purchase came up.

Understandably it’s designed with revenue generation in mind, if not at the forefront. Create a list that prioritises attendance and you disincentivise many who haven’t yet bought another membership, while this may be the push that finally convinces former members to renew. In not opening the list up to everyone though there is a nod to previous spending commitments, which suggests a balance was sought. Something I would draw attention to is that those who hit double figures at home last season were very likely manipulating the waiting room process, using multiple internet browsers and devices to generate multiple queue numbers. For my sins I helped make it very unlikely that parents would miss out for one of the Christmas fixtures last year. We’ll have many fans, less aware or more honest, who would be penalised by a system which simply ordered all members by account ticket purchases.
