Why was it cancelled?
I have no real interest in it as a sport but respect the skills in it, I play Cricket and obviously there are some transferable skills in there. It's one of those that Cricketers would all give a go, if simply out of curiosity
I'm disappointed they are unable to play Cricket at London Stadium despite the dimensions meaning it's possible. I believe logistically it was a challenge with the low lights and the sightscreens having to be lined up with the replay screens
Capacitywise, those no real reason for them to deviate from Lords or the Oval but it would be nice to see if they could go beyond 31k of Lords for perhaps World Cup games as an example. It would certainly be an interesting showpiece. [Post edited 2 Nov 2025 1:06]
