I aim to be patient with all of the new boys, so this isn’t a criticism of his ability, but I don’t see what the aim is with Akpom.
He has very limited involvement, and we don’t seem to create anything for him. On the odd occasion he does get in the box, you can see he strikes it well, but it just doesn’t happen enough.
He has far too few touches for our #10. |  |

He shows moments of quality but is currently struggling to enforce himself on the game, that perhaps wasn't helped by them making several heavy tactical fouls on him in the first half - stopping him before he had the chance to maybe do something.

I think he looks a quality player on the ball, he's one of those players who makes it look very easy. I'm not convinced the 10 position is right for him though, he doesn't seem to get involved enough which is a shame as when he does he makes things happen. |  | | |

I actually thought he played quite well last night. Thought he was involved with a lot of positive play but agree he is lacking that spark. Delays passing or shooting a bit too long and then the opposition recovers.
That being said the main issue we have going forward is the speed of play so he's not the only one. |  |

I thought he was well in the game first half, certainly in build up. Didn't help that every time he turned his man Kyprianou was allowed to haul him down and not get a yellow card.
Certainly needs to make his presence felt more in the box though.
Misjudged a header at the end of the first half that looked like a great chance and just does not seem to find the space often enough.
I'm happy to persevere with him, I think it will come good. |  | | |

Seems to bring the same toolkit as Sammy Szmodics and it does not quite fit what we need.
From my angle in West Stand towards the North, it looked a hard chance, could not wrap his foot round it when going for power. A gentle side foot might have been a better option. | | | |

We don't suit him, and he doesn't suit us - it sometimes happens, sure there is a real asset for a club there, but it's not us.

I don't think I've seen him get dispossessed when the ball goes into his feet or chest - he makes the ball stick. He can turn away from a player with his first touch too despite a defender being aggressive on him. His back to goal play is of a decent quality for this level. |  |

Hard to see from tv sometimes but commentators saying him and Hirst were making the same runs, time playing together will improve that. As other posters have said would be interesting to see him in the 9 role, but leaves us light at 10 with Szmodics out. |  |

Absolutely agree with all that's been written, he has a skillset, and it's suited to be number 9. Think we either have him competing for that role with Hirst and Azon or send him back in Jan.
