Sounds like £40m well spent then…

I hope so because if he does well and moves on, hopefully there will be a little ‘add on’ for us.

Anyway, well done him.

There's a certain group who seem to want him to fail, I suspect he will suit Dyche's game far better than Big Ange's style.

I'm still a bit puzzled why they signed him when Nuno didn't seem to fancy him

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

The way he treated our club in the end I'm not surprised people want him to fail. Ipswich gave him the opportunity, Ipswich put him in the shop window and yet he repaid us by sticking 2 fingers up to everyone. F*** him.

The ending was sour certainly but he also reaped us £37.5 million which is a higher transfer fee than Arsenal have ever mustered

I'm not too bitter about it, we move on

Hopefully he can kick on and yield us further money in the future (we all assuming there are some sell ons within the deal)

I don’t quite see it that way. I don’t want him to fail. I want him to earn us more money by doing well. After that, I couldn’t care a less. His choices, his career. See ya later.

I don’t like the way he went about leaving this club. It told me a lot about him and I certainly don’t want to see him back here ever. That bridge is well and burned and this club is bigger than him, whatever he might think.

His career was hardly on the rocks, we did very well to sign him permanently last year and made a healthy profit on him. He'll go on to play at a higher level than both us and Forest.

Strange perspective to have of someone who was so important in our most successful season in a long long time, provider of some amazing joyful moments on the pitch, as well as some very handy revenue once he moved on. So what if he mishandled his departure somewhat? He was young, poorly advised, and according to rumour under considerable pressure from family.

I'd love him to absolutely rip it up - not only because of our (hopefully juicy) sell-on - but because he was massive for us and I really like him as a kid and a player.

I get that some people are upset and angry at how it ended. I'm not.

Dyche loves a winger. Him becoming the manager will be a positive for Omari

Just for the record Hutchinson hasn't earned us any money, Ashton and his dealings have.

er.....!

He's the product that was "dealt" !

No product = no deal. You can't negotiate without a product.

You can be the best estate agent ever, but without a house to sell, then no deal ...

And when you have a great product, I agree, the negotiation is vital too.

I do agree but the 'add on' is not looking likely at the moment.

I fear he choose the wrong club and he wont make the heights he has the potenail to with Forrest.

I know there's people here and outside the forum that do not wish him well. But, watching the highlights yesterday it certainly makes me proud to see him put in a good performance.

Judging by the comments, Forest fans really do rate him. I'm jealous.

You may well be right. But that is precisely why I hope he does well. If the new manager has faith in him and he has a good second half to the season, who knows? With player price inflation, we may get something out of it.

I couldn’t care less about players who leave the club.

If he does well, good for him. If not, oh well, not our problem.

I persoanlly think Aston played a blinder and we sold him for max at the top of his curve in value in his career.

I might be wrong and i loved him when he was here.

Judging from your attitude you're no better person. Sort of sum up the non empathetic generation. just wish him well and be nice

He was a young player of immense talent who rose too quickly for his own maturity and was almost certainly manipulated by his agent - and possibly parents. Have some empathy: he made a massive contribution to our success.

I don't wish the guy any harm but he really did put Two fingers up to the club and the fans they way he went about it, for that reason I don't really care how he gets on now if I am honest.
