Those more in the know than me, what's the story there this season?

Surely more was expected of them than lower mid table?

Poll: How long till Selles gets sacked?

Not really. They changed manager and are facing a points deduction. Although mid lower table is a meaningless term at this stage of the season. There is just six points between 15th and 2nd.

Not the best managerial appointment I think.

I was expecting more. They must have one of the most expensive squads in the league, so irrespective of any sanctions coming down the line they are underperforming.

Hopefully get a nice big points deduction - at some point this season!

Problems run deep at Leicester, the club's in a total mess. There's open mutiny against the ownership and protests and chants against the owners are becoming a regular thing at games. Since Vichai died in the helicopter crash and his son took over, King Power has become a curse rather than a blessing. His son being thrust into a position of a lot of responsibility and finding himself out his depth has surrounded himself with a group of self interested yes men promoted far above their talent who make decisions to keep political power rather than for the good of the club and unfortunately these bloodsuckers are entrenched in their power. If you're interested, Google Jon Rudkin, for instance.

Recruitment has been diabolical for years now. Money has been spunked on absolute dross for years and years now - Oliver Skipp for 25 million, Patson Daka for 23 mill as lowlights and there are countless more. We've also started buying in loads of players at the end of their careers for some reason, on high wages, such as the awful Ryan Bertrand who barely played Conor Coady whose legs had totally gone even before he joined and Jordan Ayew who is way past his best. The model of buying promising talent for low, developing and selling high totally discarded. And the players that on paper are decent like Winks and Faes just phone it in week after week.

Brendan Rodgers, the devil himself, did untold damage to the club that will last for years and years. He left LCFC an absolute mess in a mountain of debt, relegating us with the most expensive squad in PL history after basically downing tools when told he couldn't have any more money after spending almost double the amount of any manager in our history. You won't find a Leicester fan with anything good to say about him anywhere, despite winning the FA cup, which says it all. Huge loans to try and cope with the impact of being relegated whilst still having one of the biggest budgets in the PL have crippled the club financially where the club are even struggling to keep up the interest payments apparently. And of course all the PSR punishments that are following.

And on top of this, the atmosphere is absolutely poisonous at the ground and has been for years now, frankly. Nobody has a good word to say about the club. I hate going because it's a cesspit of moaning, negativity and anger, home games are absolutely miserable with no atmosphere and moaning has even set in at aways. We have become one of the most toxic fanbases around because entitlement set in after a few years at the higher end of the PL and many fans started to think we had made it as a top half PL side, a position that has now been pi5sed away through terrible management at the club. So even when we won the championship under Maresca the atmosphere was pretty bad all year and he got lots of stick for the style of play because basically fans were angry we were in the second tier again

Then to compound matters, a string of really poor managerial appointments following Enzo Maresca. Steve Cooper didn't have a chance with his Forest history and negative football, the fans never bought him from day 1. Ruud van Nistelrooy was just unqualified and out of his depth and hired on name alone. And Marti Cifuentes is proving to be B-tec Pep. And fans are

Basically Ipswich don't need to worry about Leicester this year, despite the decent squad on paper the club is in turmoil and we'll be stuck in the championship for a good few years now and wouldn't rule out league 1 in a couple of years quite honestly, unless something changes.

Sorry that's so long!!

Great post and fascinating read! Can't help wondering how the town fanbase would be reacting having gone through all that.

The point about fan entitlement feels like a bit of a tragic inevitably. Budgies seem to be going through that right now, calling for a new sacking every few months rather than accepting they're just not very good at the moment.

Mate’s in-laws are all Foxes and we meet them if we can when we play each other.

They’ve all given up their STs for the exact reasons you outline in your post.

They sold their best player, McAteer.

Their fans laughed at the amount of money they received for him, we're all now laughing at them as its f**ked them up.
