| Actually thought we played ok tonight? 22:05 - Nov 28 with 1491 views | BouncebackIpswich | Despite the result. A better performance than Hull against despite getting 0 points instead of 3. Showing signs of being much more direct and threatening going forwards. Both of Oxfords goals were totally against the run of play. I'm not opposed to a flounce when the performance merits it but honestly thought we were decent today. | | | | |

| Actually thought we played ok tonight? on 22:08 - Nov 28 by jasondozzell | I thought there was lots of good things about us. Two slightly freakish goals against us. Everyone will overreact again but no need to. We're still heading nicely in the right direction. |
The second goal was not freakish at all. We have no backbone- completely fragility when things do not go our way - which is not a good sign.

Yep. Look at the PPG over recent games and the table. It's the championship. It's a brutal marathon. We will be more than okay.

| Actually thought we played ok tonight? on 22:13 - Nov 28 by Radlett_blue | Conceding the first goal at this level is crucial. It gives the opposition something to defend & changes the game. |
Was very costly tonight, up to that point it looked like Walton would be a spectator

| Actually thought we played ok tonight? on 22:33 - Nov 28 with 282 views | Esseeja | I don't know if I agree, that second half was the same sluggish and slow play that we've been seeing so much of. I understand that it's riskier to play faster against a low block, but I think it's hurting our risk taking ability, and the amount of times we take risks in games that we should be taking if we want to break down low blocks. For all that I've watched of us so far this season, I can't believe we are 3 points behind 2nd. No one in and around the top 6 (apart from Derby) can stay consistent and it's giving Coventry the freest title since Liverpool cruised to the PL title last season. We are also one of those teams who aren't consistently winning enough games. If one of these teams wins enough games in a row, then they soon become the newer favourites for second. We need to be that team. We should be taking advantage of the league's inconsistency, and we are failing to do so. It is good that we have finally managed to get an unbeaten run going recently, 6 games unbeaten is decent, but we aren't winning enough games in a row. The most we've managed this season is 2. A team of our standards HAS to be getting at least a winning run of 4. We're about to head into a tough December, and that's looking less and less likely before we head into January. We dominated Oxford... until they scored, and then we laboured for the rest of the game... until they scored again. That's when whe decided to use some pace in our play. Why did it take so long? Really unlucky to not equalise from McAteer's initial cross up to Clarke's shot, but for our standards, I should be stating that we were unlucky not to have won the game. Instead, we lost, which, for our standards, is unacceptable. However, that's the Championship. Results like this happen every week in this league. Curveballs everywhere you look. Anyway, Oxford away seems to be this club's PTSD. [Post edited 28 Nov 2025 22:34]

| Actually thought we played ok tonight? on 22:33 - Nov 28 with 282 views | Dubtractor | Nah. It was nowhere near good enough tbh. It's not the end of the world, and we'll hopefully get going again on Tuesday, but we looked weak at the back, sloppy in the middle of the pitch, and hugely disjointed in the final third. A few decent spells of pressure, but we've got to be more creative and more clinical when we're on top. | |

I don't think they'll go down. Swansea and Portsmouth look much worse than Oxford. [Post edited 28 Nov 2025 22:36]

And it was a bad result, but what you wrote is also a fair assessment. I’ve said it before, and will no doubt say it again (but hopefully less frequently), there are too many big chances we’re not burying. Tonight we took 0% of our big chances (Leif’s goal doesn’t count as a big chance - it was just a great goal) and they took 67%. We need to be getting onto the right side of percentage of big chances taken. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Actually thought we played ok tonight? on 22:22 - Nov 28 by Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | It’s actually pretty sad that some people will take positives out of a lackluster toothless mistake ridden defeat against a team that’s one once at home all year. A few on here are literally insane! |
Tonight wasn’t great but it’s not untrue to say overall in the last couple of months we have been one of the best sides in this league after a rocky start

The results have been ok but we’ve had plenty of bad thrown in as well tonight included.

Yep composure and decision making lacking when the opportunity is opened up. Time on the grass needed to address this. Is this side as coachable, or as able to form playing partnerships as the promotion team? Time will tell. But possibly we will slide out of contention for a promotion opportunity by then. The jury is out, and time might be our enemy.
