See it time and time again when clubs dump a previously successful manager who's going through a slump. Rarely do things get better. Just be careful what you wish for.

| If we replace McKenna... on 22:03 - Dec 2 by pointofblue | The answer is to spend even more money? Do we trust those who managed the last three windows to spend it effectively? |
Money or no money you don't just accept it do you. So yes we need to use the market. That could be loans or that could be a free Sam Morsy (just as a free example). The balance isn't right.

| If we replace McKenna... on 21:52 - Dec 2 by Swailsey | I’d argue that a season and a half is more than a ‘slump’. We were relegated with a squad that wasn’t good enough, have spent millions and the squad STILL isn’t good enough. I’m not McKenna out, but if this was any other club around the country, it wouldn’t be a surprise for him to be under pressure. We’ve been crap under him for nearly as long as we were good. |
If the squad isn't good enough then sacking McKenna wouldn't do much surely ?

For the love of god stop going on about pre-takeover! Thats not what game changer are measuring themselves up against.

He’s building a second team more or less from scratch, so yes I’m afraid it may take a season of consolidation, although I’m sure we’ll pick up in the second half of season and at least make the playoffs! I’d give him until this next year!

We are pretty rare in that respect, and it sets us apart from the predictable masses all over the world. KMcK has plenty of time with me, and I'm proud that this club is different to every other club that would have binned a manager in the same circumstances. . |
On the flip side when it does go wrong we tend to spend a long time in the doldrums as a result.

There is then the departure from role of supporter to a game in the head where they believe they are the Chairman, CEO and Coaching staff all in one, knowing what decisions need to be made on and off the field of play. Imagine what MA and KMck must be saying, those so called supporters need someone alongside them because they think they are to powerful. Jeez. Weve reset, the only people not to have reset are those that are expecting automatic promotion at the first attempt. Remember how difficult and attritional this league is, remember it doesnt get started until Feb, remember how poor we were last season, remember how much change there was last summer, remember our Captain walked out on us, remember we couldn’t secure transfers targets until very late in the window, remember how the star dust secured last summer did a bit better than planned and triggered the escape clauses, remember it takes several seasons to rebuild and get players pointing in the same direction unless by some stroke of luck it all fits together rather more quickly, remember money only helps accelerate the player acquisition and does actually equal performance, remember thats the day job of the coaches and player not the so called supporters, remember our job is to keep turning up and getting behind the team rather than constantly moaning about not being where you expect us to be. That is all.

It stems from KM unfortunately - his predictability is clear to see. The players are playing to what they are told in training which inevitably isn’t working. He’s on borrowed time, the longer people keep their rose tinted glasses on about how he brought us up to the PL, the more damage this is going to do to the club. The games we’ve looked good in have been against poor teams (eg Sheffield Utd with Selles as manager) but otherwise we’ve struggled. With a 200m+ team, we’ve got 2 points out of a possible 9 against newly promoted teams… we looked lost against Oxford, we were played off the pitch yesterday, and don’t get me started on Charlton. I am struggling to believe the KM rose tinted backers are happy with the way we’ve played in all games since August…
