Quite suprised by KM really 21:53 - Dec 5 with 1023 viewsFrimleyBlue

First real tough time hes had at town and first time theres been perhaps 10% of a gambase having a moan and hes beginning the mick Mccarthy its the fans fault direction and that never ends well.

Im suprised hes gone this route. Only results and performances will change people's minds. He knows this. He himself only a few months ago said the players are the ones who have to get the fans to love them.

KM also knows the type of football the fans want. They spoke about it again at the fans forum. Lately its been walking football. So the heat is either on the players because they're not doing what im asks so then he can't bemoan fans reactions. Or he holds his hands up and takes the can so that the fans then know its not on the players its the managers instructions and the fans can then try and understand and appreciate what the plan is. Otherwise it is simply a squad of very expensively put together walking around a pitch when we are used to so more effort.

Anyways. He hasn't said anything wrong. Im not going that far with it. Hes come across well in how's he said it. But im just surprised hes going the fan route when its never a positive path when ever a manager does it

It is not remotely comparable to MM. At all.

I think its similar tbh. He doesn't like to be challenged about his approach. Nor did McCarthy. He seems a little bit sensitive about fans questioning the efforts of the players and himself,so did McCarthy. He's already accused the fans projecting a " difficult atmosphere" at a recent home game. McCarthy also projected / apportionment " blame" on fans .. ..

Where has he said it is the fans' fault?

Although maybe he'd have a point – because the weird and surely wilful failure of people to engage in primary school levels of comprehension, instead bending pretty simple and mundane things to their own thirst for scandal and drama, never ends well at all.

What's coming up is continued cherry-picking to feed people's sad but very modern addiction to the outrageous, while ignoring what is actually written or said.

Kieran’s properly p*ssed with the fanbase by Guthrum 5 Dec 17:36
I'm not sure McKenna is so much p*ssed off with the fanbase, as concerned at the effect the prevailing mood-change could have (maybe is having) upon the players and the matchday atmosphere.

The fragility of supporter morale - from the high of finally beating Norwich to the plunge initiated by Oxford - can easily infect those on the pitch. Lack of raucous driving the team on, as we notably had during the promotion seasons. Players become more cautious, afraid to make mistakes and draw annoyance from the stands. Or get rid of the ball with more rapidity than care. Grumbling begets grumbling as negative play is reinforced by poor results.

It's not so much criticising as fighting to retain (regain?) a valuable element which helped propel us upward. With the team not yet firing consistently, Town need all the help we can get. Think of it in terms of a rallying cry, not McCarthy shouting "Fck off" at the fans.

So essentially you're saying that he said something wrong but hasn't said anything wrong?

What unbelievable hyperbole. Why you trying to make blow this up into something that it isn't?!

Such an odd post to say all that and then the "anyways. Hasn't said anything wrong". Baffling.

You're entitled to your view and how you see it. I am mine.

I find it interesting the whole thing really.

Apart from mentioning the fans. Weve gone from being at match week 5 which made sense at the time when it was match week 10. To now possibly having a good side in February once he works out whos good and who isn't and who works together who doesn't.

Maybe it is the fm world thats ruined my perception and if so then so be it and ill hold my hands up to it. But id always believed you'd research the players before signing them so that you didnt have to wait 7 months to see if they work together.

Because its not really wrong. Just surprised hes gone that route.
Mick wasn't wrong. Most managers who go that route arent actually wrong. But just feel that when it comes to fans imo managers are best not to same them.

So yeah not wrong hence why i said not wrong. And also not hyperbole as its not a majorly negative thing either. Just that imo it never ends well when it starts.

You are definitely entitled to your opinion, but making things up isn't an opinion – something many people seem to have completely forgotten.

With respect chris. Im allowed to post a view about an interview without the need to see it as being old frimmers. I wasn't allowed back on here with the requirements of only sharing views that would be popular. Im allowed a voice.

By all means counter the view. Ridicule it fine. But give over with the old frimmers stuff as ive done my best to post balanced views on here.

Thing is though he hasn't really gone down a route. He's not come out and made a statement. Just in the course of an interview he's asked a serious of questions (and the questions can sometimes be journalists doing there job and asking slightly loaded questions) and he's answered and as he does he has answered them pretty honestly. As you later stated nothing said was really wrong so really no legitimacy to stating you are surprised he's gone down that route.

That's just my view. Thing it just starts to make something of nothing and stuff like this builds particularly if we have bad results.

He didn't mind being asked the question. He said he understood it. He understood why people would look at that. And then gave his opinion and also why he didn't think it was helpful. What's not fair enough about that. If he didn't ask the question people would be saying he's dodging the question and not liking being challenged about it. He can't win.
