Don't seem to like singing / joining the songs the north stand start?
And want to replace easier songs for certain players with more longer complicated version.
Jayden Again
Jack Clarke
Think there was even a 3rd Nunez chant.

I’m with you, we need a better atmosphere and they try, but they constantly sing songs that only a small pocket of fans know the words too. I am in S6 and can’t make out the words for the life of me.

Perhaps lyrics being circulated would be useful?

A block do join in with songs that start in the NS, the trouble is that most songs in the NS seem to start in S4/5 & when S6 don’t join in the sound doesn’t reach A Block & we don’t know what’s being sung.

I suspect that’s the same the other way too.

Nice things being said about Romford on this thread, if you prefer:

I feel this deserves more love/attention than it is getting.

We don't come up with many original songs but this is simple and really good. Let's see if we can get it going - my only fear is that by the time it spreads...Xmas will be over. Maybe post it on socials and see if the rights people get their eyes on it (blue action etc.).

We do need some fresh songs. I am still baffled that we haven't come up with anything better for Leif. He deserves his own song.

When I see some of the chants posted on here, maybe I'm getting old but they're getting way to complex for a football chant - or certainly one that you're going to get a significant number joining in with.

There’s no nice things being said about BA on that thread? You just wanted people to click on your thread because it has a chant you’ve created (I like it for the record). Clickbait here though with your Blue Action comment..

Still trying to learn the words for 'Never Lost at Home'. !!

It’s the songs that start off slow and speed up to 100mph the oldies false teeth fly out. That’s the problem.

Not a dig but that is correct when the North does get going Blue Action group will start a completely different song instead of just joining and then it all just fizzles out, SBR is much much louder than than corner of the Cobbold when it gets going .

Ive found that since BA have moved the SBR now sings as "one" and is much better unified.

Im in section 5 smack behind the goal and all I used to hear was 3/4 of the SBR stand singing o e song then BA trying to sing and get and get different song going. It always ended ot a bit of a jumbled mess tbh.

I sit in section 6 but it is very difficult to make out songs that are sung in the lower NS.

I think it doesn't help that there are effectively three sections which are not that well connected acoustically, and I do wonder if it would have been better for Blue Action to remain in the lower NS.

I stand in the bottom corner of section 5 right next to section 6 so have one song in one ear and another song in the other!
Blue Action have a far bigger repotoire of songs that are very good but sometimes it’s hard to hear the words so people don’t join in. It was better when they were in section 6 so more of us could hear and join in.
I wonder whether on both sides there is a little bit of “our chants are better “ mentality so not wanting to join in with the other group?
It’s a pity we can’t get the singing in unison and make atmosphere louder. Even the Da da da da after we score is sung quicker in the North than Cobbold so we end up chanting IPSWICH twice!

I'm off to Leicester tomorrow, hoping I can learn a few songs as it's hard to make them out from SAR Upper. I just stick with BLUE ARMY!!!

Dunno but for the love of god they need to be back in the lower North, if it means moving people out of their year on year season tickets then so be it, these lads are hugely important for creating an atmosphere and getting the North singing as one, as it used to be..

I think that's a bit unfair. We join in plenty with the North Stand and take up songs they start as well. It occurred to me that, because we aim to sing constantly, it seems like we're singing over everyone when in reality we're just always in the middle of something when the NL starts something else! But make no mistake, when When The Town Go Marching In, or, Hark Now Hear strike up, we're right in there with everyone else...

As with specific chants you mention there, we have sung that Jayden Again before, but I guess we don't favour it because it's just a rehash of what we sang for Liam Delap last year. We're trying to add as much variety as possible. That Jack Clarke one took off in A Block, but that was just brought over word-for-word from Sunderland (same with Broadhead). We wanted to avoid that, but hey, if it flies it flies. But it would be cool if we could be the ones to come up with an original song for a player and hear it sung by the fans of the new club, if/when they move on...

Not sure about a 3rd Nunez chant, but we do sing a song for Nunez to the tune of Ciao Bella. A lot of people prefer that Cranberries one - and it is brilliant - but I guess it doesn't make sense to us unless we're actually playing Norwich. We'll give it some when we send or ressies out against them in the Checkatrade trophy next season...

In general, we're just trying to mix up the songbook y'know. Think our repertoire's a bit stale at the moment. I don't think what we sing is that elaborate or overcomplicated - Marcelino, said f**k off Norwich, now he's a blue like me and you - but I agree that getting lyrics out there somehow is important. We have done that (only in A Block), but even there most people don't look at them. I have a hunch that if we flyered up the NL with lyric sheets it wouldn't be particularly well received. Personally, I think the best way is the old way - just plough through with a song until, one-by-one, more people join in. Ideally you'd get an accompanying video with it, and away it goes...

One think that may help is us shifting to the front of A Block. This will certainly help our songs carry and thus make them easier to follow; it should therefore make it easier to synch up with other stands...

I know it will probably get absolutely slaughtered in the comments but at the Boro game there was a bloke who seemed to have a mic/speaker who basically announced what they were going to start singing and that seemed to work quite well at times.

No doubt, but the club & those already in S5 didn’t want to facilitate us moving centrally in the NSL so we had no choice.

A megaphone is absolutely standard in every ultra group in the world! We've been lobbying the club to use one for years now, but they continuously knock it back citing 'health & safety' concerns: taking the decibels in the section to unsafe levels, risk I could be using the megaphone at the precise moment a critical safety announcement was being made over the PA system and just generally confusing supporters as to who's using the megaphone - me or a member of staff...

I continue to be baffled by the club's stance towards you.

They seem utterly ambivalent (or borderline deliberately frustrating), except when they want/need to use you and your efforts to big up the club on social media.

A strong and organised ultras section can only ever be a good thing, especially now that Ashton seems to have pivoted to citing the importance of atmosphere as a justification for confiscating unused season tickets.

Their excuses are p*ss-weak too.

Too loud? I'm pretty sure that Ashton's comments about the new PA system were that it was going to be loud.

Chanting over announcements? Maybe they could plumb you unit the Block A PA (I noted at the Westfalenstadion in September that the capo stands have fixed speakers installed), with a setup that would automatically cut your input in an emergency?

People might think you're a steward? Yeah, no.
