So other than Millwall we've played everyone 22:29 - Dec 20 with 1117 views

who have you been impressed with?? I am struggling to think of anyone, everyone just seems so bang average at best in what is a pretty poor division this year, everyone looks like a mid table side.

In the sense that the vast majority of teams are well-organised and difficult to break down, yes they are all much of a muchness. Clearly Coventry have been far better than when we played them. Small margins in many matches. We need to take our chances.

Might have been different had Hirst scored the penalty...they weren't that great, we let them off the hook.

There's not one game I've not come away from thinking we could/should have won. But I've no complaints about any game we didn't win.

Stoke could play it around a bit without really threatening.
Bristol City looked fairly dangerous going forward.
Boro were dangerous when counter attacking and when Hackney was pulling the strings.
Coventry were alright for a half.

The rest of the teams basically put their main focus on defending.

Leicester looked miles better than us last week and then got battered by QPR today who we beat comfortably.
Maybe Middlesbrough who created quite a lot against us.... but then if Hirst scores his penalty, we win that game imo.

We're obviously 3rd and we're still yet to get going, I do still think we've got a decent winning run in us which can get us in the top 2 come the end of the season.

That last paragraph is really hurting my head. It isn't that it doesn't fail to not make sense but rather that the level of double negatives is painful.

I am sure you mean ... Every match I have come away from I have thought we could/should have won. However, I couldn't complain whenever we drew or lost.

I don’t think they were miles better, they just happened to score a couple of worldie goals and Clarke missed our best chance.

In the same respect, I don’t think we were miles better than Coventry either. There’s not a lot to choose between the sides in these games, but goals change them.

Genuinely, absolutely no one. I don’t know if a year in the PL has changed how I perceive the quality at this level but every team we face looks so weak.

I’m including ourselves in that too, we don’t look like we get out of 3rd gear most games.

They are one of few who have actual squad depth too

Hayden Hackney absolutely ran the game against us and Boro were very threatening on the attack. That’s about it tbh.

If it was just the odd game or two I might buy that, but..

We’ve managed one goal against the three teams who were two divisions below us last season and that was a scruffy penalty.

We’ve managed one point against Blackburn and Oxford and didn’t really deserve that.

Conversely, we’ve eventually overrun three teams who sacked their manager almost immediately afterwards.

On the plus side we’ve comfortably beaten the runaway leaders, the 4-1 win at QPR was excellent and we had twenty decent minutes at Hull where we could have had 4 but overall we’ve been pretty brittle, underwhelming and far too easy to disrupt.

Surprised there is no mention of Birmingham, who, for a team newly promoted from League One playing against a team fresh from the Premier League, were feisty, pressed hard, broke quickly and made us look pedestrian, if not plodding at times.

I put that game down to Birmingham coming into it on a high from L1 promotion, and us still on somewhat of a relegation hangover.
