Not yet, touch wood.

Decided to take up my firm's offer of a free flu jab this year (slipped my mind last year and suffered a bit as a result), so I'm hoping that's given me a decent chunk of protection.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

mine started a week ago on Monday.

Started as a runny nose, tiredness. Then progressed to a blocked nose and chesty cough since last week and fatigue. It's not wiped me out but ive felt pretty shattered. Looking forward to it being over.

Yeah, had a cough since last week and a couple of days of feeling totally sh1te but not consecutively. Still coughing a bit but just about on the other side of it too.

I've been nowhere near as ill as some people I know either so I probably escaped the worst.

I've had a strange cold for 4 days now. The only constant is a shortness of breath if I do too much physical activity. And no appetite. Feeling light headed when I wake which goes, then exhausted again after sunset. Occasional tickly cough. No sore throat. No headaches. A weird one. Can't tell if it's peaked yet or coming around for a second hit.

Started 3 weeks ago. Shivers and shakes, high temperature, nauseous, but thankfully no being sick or diarrhea. Felt better next day as the body fought back, but then declined again. Continuous coughing, lots of night sweats, complete loss of appetite, heart rythms all over the place. Got over that and now have post-viral fatigue. 3 weeks in and am improving slowly. Appetite is fine now, but get fatigued easily, by evening I am very tired. Made it to the last home game so that is always a good sign of improvement ! Had the flu jab as well, whether that helped or not I don't know, probably not.

Started feeling rough last Monday, it's been ups and downs since. Worked from home all week but on Thursday hit the wall at 3pm. Symptoms seemed to change almost daily, ranging from headache to feeling hot, cold, chesty cough, fatigue or just a sinusy thick head.

Not much fun but far from the wind down to Xmas I was after.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Have you tried manning up?

I sympathise. I normally get them easily, but so far I’ve been ok. The Mrs made me get the flu jab though - god I’m feeling old!

Had my jab in October.
Like everywhere else [redacted] general hospital is RIDDLED with flu, covid and RSV - beyond a couple of sniffles in early November I've been gloriously virus feee so far this winter.
That said, I'm still;l masking up whenever I'm doing patient contacts or entering areas where the patient demographic is particularly vulnerable. It's a very nasty strain that's seen me and my colleagues take a fair few people o ITU with it, I'd definitely recommend y'all getting jabbed.

(Plus, the wifi signal you get from the latest vaccines is INSANELY good).

Hospitalised on Sunday with it. Apart from the usual cough, aches, headache and fever, had a very low blood oxygen level along with an upper respiratory tract infection. blood tests confirmed Influenza A. Still bed ridden today, although the aches and chesty cough are going.

At 66, I got the flu jab but this year the cut-off for Covid was 75 which seemed to me to be driven at least in part by cost-saving. So I paid privately because I thought the more the merrier when it comes to warding off respiratory viruses.

So far, so good, including after standing on a crowded train back from Leicester. But I do wear a snood on public transport in the winter which I will raise over my nose and mouth if I think I'm at risk. Probably just as effective as a basic mask, but less obtrusive.

Of course, I could take the view take the view that it's not going to kill me and not take any vaccine, but personally I'd rather not go down with something which appears to be rather nasty if I can do things to avoid it or lessen the chances or impact.

Very sensible at 66 DJR. I’d heard people with an IQ of less than 70 were more susceptible

You’ve got just over 10 years on me, so I had to go private for the flu jab (no problem with that as it seemed overkill to me, but keeps my better half happy). That seems a very high cut off for the Covid jab, although I’ve no idea whether it’s much of a risk any more. I had an attack of it last Christmas and it wasn’t as bad as pre-vaccine. Not pleasant and a couple of days in bed, so on a par with flu probably, but nowhere near as bad as when I got it in 2020 (that took months to get over and I’ve never been able to get my fitness back to where it was before).

Gone down with it here too. Felt shivery for a day, then coughs & sneezing for England. Feel pretty weak so in bed now keeping warm & hoping to sweat it out. As others, had flu jab but no Covid jab this time.

I'm on day five of it. I've had a thoroughly miserable Christmas. In & out of bed. The shivering & sneezing might have been easier today, but breathing is still difficult & the coughing has been so severe I'm aching all over. Feel like I've done ten rounds with Fabio Wardley! Not had anything this bad for years.
