| Nunez / Azon on 12:23 - Dec 31 with 626 views | Bobbychase | Seen a fair bit of "send Azon back" but I think people aren't grasping the fact he is playing his part in a team that is the (joint) second top scorers in the division. Anyone new we get in January (not counting striker cover for Hirst) will take a few weeks to get up to speed with this team and the way we play. | |

Not sure if we’d pursue Azon as a long term option. Believe this is a straight loan.
| Nunez / Azon on 12:41 - Dec 31 with 517 views | baxterbasics | Honestly Azon was a whisker away from getting a goal at Coventry, at least one was a good save by their 'keeper. The work he does keeps the oppo defence very busy which helps the whole team effort. I feel he is a clear upgrade on AAH at least, and possibly in time over Hirst, if only he can start hitting the target a little more. I do get the complaints about staying on his feet, but those of us who remember his fellow Spaniard and former fan fave Pablo might recall he spent as much time on his @r$e as his feet in the box and yet scored plenty. | |

| Nunez / Azon on 12:47 - Dec 31 with 452 views | Garv | They might compliment each other, but if Azon can't put the ball in the net or assist others to, it's not much good. He's often involved and obviously works had, in that sense he's perfect for us. But I don't think he's remotely good enough with the ball at his feet or holding it up. He was better in the second half at Cov, to be fair. | |

Thought like a lot of people his best performance in a Town shirt worked his nuts off. Although never really looked like score tame shots and a soft header Although good movement. Areas to improve on. A goalscorer a fox in the box would still be handy.
| Nunez / Azon on 13:05 - Dec 31 with 364 views | Yppswyche | He reminds me of when I play 5-a-side and I’m unfit. A bit laboured, all huff & puff, no conviction or snap in my shots, a bit predictable like it’s all rather a struggle. I really like the guy, enjoy his effort and hope he comes good with a bit more time.. but he’s not dynamic in his style and he doesn’t feel like a goal scorer. | | | |
| Nunez / Azon on 13:36 - Dec 31 with 246 views | dirtyboy | Not sure what others are looking at but I think Azon is doing an awful lot of things right. Like McKenna says, good performances generally start to lead to things 'going your way'. He's always in the right places at the right times, I'm critical of him going down easily a fair few times, but I can't fault the work rate and the threat he carries. He's not been getting the ball in particularly dangerous positions and like Hirst and Delap, he often had to cover a lot of ground before being able to get shots off. He decent a pressing and winning the ball and probably should be on 5 or 6 goals and I think we all know a few of his chances have been desperately unlucky. I don't see anything bad there and if anything, he's looking better now he's getting a run, his numbers are good and think over a period of time, the actuals will converge and we'll all be happy. Patience. ETA, his numbers are really good, am comparing to Simms, Wright, Stansfield, Hirst and Kieffer. Stand outs are that he's not actually been on the pitch as much as you think. He's not great for aerial duels. Shot creating actions are right up there. [Post edited 31 Dec 13:44]

You may well be right, and I hope you are. However, when it comes to being patient, I think different criteria apply to loan players. They have to get up and running quickly as all too soon the loan is over. Like all our players, he was excellent against Coventry. And that needs to be the level he plays at from now on. I really like his movement, he's got defenders trying to second guess him constantly which is mentally as well as physically draining. He's doing a good job for the team and it's paying off. He just needs a couple to go in for him and I think he'll fly.

| Nunez / Azon on 14:34 - Dec 31 with 22 views | _CliveBaker_ | Nunez has made the spot his own, especially valuable at a time when none of the alternatives have managed to demonstrate a lot there. Long may it continue, I would say getting as many minutes out of him in these final 22 games will go a long way to determining our season. Azon is a willing worker, he's young, he's here on a straight loan, its a pretty low risk acquisition and he's playing his part. A little soft at times and goes to ground too easily for my liking, not overly convinced he has a real clinical killer instinct to his game in the box yet either, but he's a decent option. Ideally we'll get Hirst back relatively quickly and keep him fit as well as add another in Jan. | | | |
