i am not being provocative, Do we need a new Striker? 01:43 - Jan 2 with 944 viewsGrief

Azor has improved immensely in the past month, he does go to ground too easily and hasn't quite got the goals we would want (i do think he has been unlucky, some great saves against him) but his work rate is currently outstanding.
Akpom has not really had much game time in the 9, but the first time he does, he nets.
Hirst nearing a return.

A top striker is going to be hard to come by especially in January, i believe that we may have enough cover for the 9! To discover another Kieffer Moore would be a real bonus though

Yeah we do. Let's turn the screw and give someone with Prem potential half a season learning McKennaball so they can hit the ground running next season

I think Azon is growing into the league but I still think a striker is required to keep that push going.

Piroe or back in for Guiu would be my guesses if we are looking.

Ivan is simply not a goalscorer for all the qualities he has putting the ball in the net isn't one.

Akpom really needs a run, I hope he starts again on Sunday.

Let's hope Hirst can rediscover how to keep the ball when he returns.

All that said the only player I would buy in January would be a striker as you never know Hirst may get injured again or not re-discover his form, Ivan I just don't see scoring more than 5 goals in a season and Akpom jury is still out.

Of course we do.

The 3 main options have not been brilliant this season despite our position. If we can get another striker in, who weighs in with more than a few goals, then we should get in the top 2, if we carry on doing what we are doing.

Azon works hard etc etc, but ultimately his shots look to be fairly weak. He's has numerous headers which he should have scored and hasn't. I don't think we can rely on him scoring many goals.

Hirst is just quite injury prone.

Akpom, who knows. Might excell now but why would much change?

If we can get a top one yes. We will do well to find one who works as hard as Azon.

Absolutely loved it when Burns lost his man and Azon sprinted back to win the ball back and the. Sprinted forward and won the ball over the top. It was outstanding.

Yes.

The right striker makes a massive difference for us. Are they out there and available is the thing.

Azor is in his 1st season in England, we must allow him time to adjust, whether we see him again after this season who knows. I like him but he's got a lot to learn.

Hirst, hasnt quite been at the same level as 2 season ago and we need to be wary of his injury record, not that he's a sick note, far from it but as one woumd expect he picks up a couple over the season and if he gets a bad one we are short.

Yes we do.

I don’t think Azon has improved immensely. He played well against Cov but missing the number of chances he has isnt down to luck. He’s not clinical enough.

If we want to nail down a place in the automatics an upgrade atbST is essential imho
