Did you know the saying " Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey" was to do with the old galleons that had cannon onboard and the brass monkey was the triangle that held the cannon balls. Pity the snow didn't happen at Christmas. I loved those scenes on Christmas cards of a lane, maybe in Suffolk where a horse and cart had previously been down and was now covered in snow.
