| Now that Humpries has gone on 01:12 - Jan 10 with 1000 views | itfc1108 | It would be a sad day for the club if we were to use this loophole. I would have Barbrook in the squad, and keep him to train with the first team and cover for Azor. It could be a very useful 6 months of learning for him. | | | |

Members of the youth team already train with the 1st team on a regular basis. It is the only way they can hold 11 Vs 11 games.

Why would it be a 'sad day for the club'? We've just got Cat one for the first time ever, and why would we want to hamstring McKenna by putting a player weaker than Humpheys into the squad? Barbrook might come good eventually, but at the moment, he's not on the level of Humph.

Seems a fair and proper rule. Given that Cat 1s and prem clubs literally poach all the strongest talent, for very modest fees, from lower clubs as a result of the way the regulations are set up, It would be extremely harsh to let the big clubs take all the homegrown talent for peanuts and then penalise small clubs for not having that homegrown talent on the bench...

It's not about feeling sad it's about getting the best squad possible and getting promoted.

Can a Cat 1 academy still poach youngsters from another Category 1 academy?

So that does leave us depending on Premier League clubs not selling on those players to League 1 or below or abroad. I guess they are not at all likely to do so.

| Now that Humpries has gone on 10:57 - Jan 10 with 337 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I think we haven't had a club developed player in most of our match day squads all season anyway. I think the rule (without the clause) was having one named in the registered 25-man-squad. | |

that's just a backstop if we don't name baggott or clarke or barbrook in our 25 man squad though? i can't see us not naming barbrook as he can't play anywhere else this season (or is he still underage?)
