What opportunities have we missed? If a good CM/CF target had gone elsewhere I might agree but they haven't. As always, better to get the right player than just any player. We could be down the line with a target and waiting for the dominoes to fall elsewhere. | | | |

Last season we'd signed Godfrey by this point and the year before we had Sarmiento and Travis through the door by now, so i don't think it's necessarily the case we don't get our business done early
I think it's probably more that players who are in demand will be leaving it until the last minute to weigh up their options/drive better offers
edit: league 1 season we had Luongo, Hirst and Broadhead at the club by 10th Jan. So we definitely have been quick to do deals in recent years [Post edited 12 Jan 14:17]
