if we keep up that pace, we'd finish on 87... not sure that will be enough for second place.

Depends on boro

IF they lose Hackney this window. Thats a massive blow to them.

90 should do it but I think we need a few in to achieve it.

My biggest worry is if we lose nunez. Whos gonna spray the ball around.

We need another option of similar ball playing talent imo.

i think it would probably do it.

bear in mind that boro would have to match that rate (probably better it given the gd disparity) and they have only 37 from their 23 games since the window closed

I think you're overestimating Boro. How many points more have we got than them since the window shut? Didn't they start the season with 4 wins or something, and we didn't have a win?

We’re factually, statistically and quite obviously the 2nd best or best team in the league since the transfer window closed on literally every single metric. Goals scored, conceded, points per game, points accumulated, etc.

We do what we’ve been doing since September 1st and, at the absolutely worst case, we will be comfortably 2nd by at least 6 points. But quite possibly top.

Yep.

We're going to win the league. Have felt this for a while now.

The reason is that we've got comfortably the best manager in the league. Every additional month the players have with him they improve and team improves.

He's had this group for less than 6 months. Frightening really.

Our PPG has been slowly, but steadily growing since the summer window closed.

Take a look at the 6, 10, 12 and 15 game form table. You might be surprised. We are the consistent form team right now, and if it continues on the current trajectory I’d say we finish the season on 89 points +/-1. Coventry would be on the same, and Boro dropping back to 79.

I think we have kind of been a bit below the 'greater than the sum of its parts' threshold for most of this season - we've got along well, but always with a few players struggling.

I get the feeling that we're now getting into territory where the team has an energy that picks players up if they're not on it. Ten games ago I'd say if we lost Nunez or Philogene or Matusiwa etc. we wouldn't cope - no replacements would be on it enough to step in - but I feel that the team has enough energy now that replacements would lift to the task and blend in quickly.

Burns today, McAteer last time, Szmodics today, Greaves twice recently - players are coming in and working straight away. Don't think that was happening before.

In short - we're a good enough squad to cope and adapt.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

Plus we have them at home in April, a win there makes a huge difference if we continue to average 2 pts game. Big week with Norwich around then too.

You honestly expect Boro to get at least 39 points from 19 matches AND Coventry to get at least 32.

Boro have 31 from their last 19. Coventry have 39. On 10-match form, Boro have 19 points and Coventry have 15.

If 87 points is not enough for second place, we would have to accept that both Boro and Coventry have had phenomenal seasons and excellent returns to their early-season form.

All we can do is keep accumulating the points.
