Town record matched 11:22 - Jan 18 with 1894 viewsPhilTWTD

Not one I was aware of, I have to admit.

Sunderland’s comeback win over Crystal Palace carried significance beyond the three points, with the Black Cats matching Ipswich Town’s long-standing record for the longest unbeaten home run by a newly promoted Premier League side. The victory extended Sunderland’s sequence at the Stadium of Light to 11 matches without defeat – a mark Ipswich first set during the 1992-93 season.

And that home defeat was to Joe Royle's Oldham. Rather annoying at the time.

Must also add what an amazing job they are doing in the Prem , considering they got in through the playoffs and were really not all that at the time ……it can be done .

Sadly they'll likely surpass our record because their next home fixture is against Burnley.

More impressive in 2025/26 with all the disparity.

I wouldn't bet against it.

Sunderland astute recruitment has meant they are now a very accomplished premiership outfit. Even 6 players away on Afcon saw them only lose one game.

Yeah I doubt that, we had a chance going to Derby away for a CL place I think?

yes, think we could've finished 3rd, not exactly a vintage derby team either!
