Quite. The data is rather damning too when you compare the two...

We wanted to spunk £20m on Hackney in the summer to play alongside Matusiwa. We got Nunez instead who is now a 10. There is a gap in the team there for a deep lying play maker.

For all our impressive defensive structure, I think we still lack a modicum of control on the ball in the middle of the park. Someone like Louza would knit things together even further IMO. When you're in the position we are, top 2 contenders and flush with parachute money, a big-ticket Jan signing could get us over the line.

It's a position that demands a lot. Taylor also comes off when he starts. How many goals has Cajuste been involved in, winning the ball back or driving us forward. I'm not against the signing at all, but it's not a 'massive upgrade' IMO.

Spot on. So many times in games where I feel like we need to keep hold of the ball and we are simply unable to do so due to the profile of midfielders we have.

I think Cajuste is an absolute Rolls Royce when he is fit and at it but his fitness is a big problem. Louza has played twice as many minutes (literally) this season. It's a huge upgrade in terms of availability. [Post edited 23 Jan 12:40]
