Simply not true.
He didn't have a good game and the stats back it up.
He's just well off the pace at the moment for whatever reason.

It's not scapegoating.
People are talking about over the season and have evidence to back it up. You need to provide evidence to counter it rather than pointing fingers at people.
Do you honestly think Hirst is at the level he has been historically or at the level we need? As it stands Azon is the better option.

That’s just nonsense. Of course they are serious about going up. We’ve won seven of the last ten games.
We may not go up, but it won’t be for the want of trying. Why? Because everybody else is trying too.
We were not good enough today. Wilder has done a fantastic job at Sheffield United and has a decent team. Nobody has a divine right to win. It’s called sport.

Oh I do plenty of dopey posts, but I don’t think that was one of them 😀. You are right. Striker is the hardest position to fill and if it was as easy as some think, they’d have already done it.
I don’t like scapegoating players. Hirst has been fantastic for us, but he’s not having the best of seasons. He knows it. Everyone does, but with a little patience and support he will be ok.
I’d add that if the players behind the forwards aren’t functioning, they’d have already strikers are left high and dry as last season amply proved.

Us conceding goals like today is unusual against recent games.. the performance of hirst isnt unusual. Hence the reason why its being discussed. |  |

It's also about moving on - Chaplin, Morsy, Broadhead, Burgess, Woolfenden, Luongo, all deemed surplus to requirements. Hirst has hung on in there, mainly because we didn't sign anyone to fill the boots of Delap. We've profited this season from having a left side that opens up teams, and now Burns is back, we're looking more creative on the right. | |

I get that argument of how the striker is such a specific role for us and the way we play but I just don't buy that we can't do better, or shouldn't have least got someone else in that has done it before at this level.
Especially when allocating 35M to the RW
The amount of touches we have had in the box and the chances they have collectively missed this season. So many goal scoring strikers on double digits, that would have cost us peanuts this off season. |  |
