Odd selection. Appreciate he played well at Cov but when you’ve got that back 4 there’s no natural offensive threat from fullback. Properly stifles our wide threat, especially when you’ve got Egeli on the right as well who yet again looked totally lost. He’s incapable of stretching the pitch, can’t go on the outside, not good enough in possession, I don’t really understand his USP out there. Wasn’t expecting Burns to go again but if McAteer isn’t getting an opportunity now with these anonymous performances from Sindre I’m not sure when he ever will.
Szmodics isn’t a 10, Hirst was dreadful, we were absolute toilet from start to finish.
Gave up 3 goals far, far too easily. Offensively they had a central defensive partnership of 36 year old Ben Mee who hasn’t played much football and McGuinness. 2 experienced players now but 1 thing they aren’t blessed with is pace. Despite that I can’t remember us turning them around once, barely got in behind them all game and played in front of them for 90 minutes.
That was an absolute stinker. It happens, we’ll lose games, need to bounce back pretty sharpish though. |  | | |

As Clive says above. We lost width with egeli playing. Lost width with Clarke coming inside and greaves nowhere near the touchline.

Greaves on left with an actual left winger and a right winger on the pitch probably would be well planned. I just dont see how you can set it up like that and think itll work. When you think of how much we lost the ball in the middle today it wss just so cramped | |

Reading between the lines Young's injury sounds like it is months rather than weeks potentially and with his being the end of January, even if he's back in a few months by the time he is fit, consider his age as well, there's going to be not much of the season left.
I think McKenna had to make that decision today, bearing in mind if Davis was to sustain an injury, then we'd have no cover for left back or centre back apart from Baggott with all three of O'Shea, Greaves and Kipre forced to play every week and not being able to rest any of them means we're likely to lose one of them also. Davis was unavailable then though, Greaves did well in that match but if Davis is fit he plays every time ahead of Greaves.
