Really like Sarmiento. That seems a good price. Not a position we need to no need for us to buy although there is an argument for him fitting us and knowing us over Mehmeti but we are obviously more confident in Mehmeti.
It's interesting neither us or Burnley took Sarmiento when promoted. I think he's a real talent but better off the bench. | |

Produced some big, big moments for us, not least the late equaliser at Leicester and of course the winner against Saints. He was never a player you felt you could hang your hat on though in terms of complete performances. Seemed to carve himself out a bit of a niche as a 'wild card' throw him off the bench type option if we wanted to cause a bit of havoc, almost like a better Kyle Edwards. His rare starts with us actually coincided with some of our poorer team performances that season, whether that was circumstantial or not its hard to say given the small sample size. Maidstone, Preston, Cardiff, Boro. I would guess our win % with and without him starting was stark in its contrast, not that it necessarily points to him as the reason for that.
I'll always appreciate those hollywood moments he played his part in, just not a player I really felt could be trusted at times. Seemed to follow a similar trajectory at Burnley last season. It'll be interesting to see how he does at Boro, no doubt a decent punt at that sort of money though. |  | | |
