Besiktas paying £11 million 15:32 - Jan 26 with 1124 viewsitfc1108

to Roma for Tammy Abraham, to turn their loan to a permanent,
So they can sell him straight to Aston Villa for £18 million.

If we go up, I think we will be looking to do the same with Cajuste and Akpom, although I don't see us making a profit like that.

On current showing I think we'd lose money on Akpom... there is clearly a great player in there though. So really hoping he gets/ keeps fit and contributes towards the end of the season.

Doubt we will sign either. There will be some negotiated exit. Especially if the players are told they aren't in the plans.

Both are capable of suddenly clicking and changing McKenna's mind though.

Truly impaired.

IIRC correctly the agreed fee on Cajuste was quite low, in the region of £5m which is peanuts in the premier league.

Akpom a slightly different story, £7m wasn't it? He's done very little this season to justify that and while I doubt we'll lose sleep over it as we'll be in the premier league I do think its one where he might sign and go straight out (probably on loan) in the same summer. Someone at Championship level will pay a decent fee given his track record.

I think we have an obligation to buy, and I don't see any profit in either of those.

Not sure how anyone can come to that conclusion on the evidence of this season. Looks more like a one season wonder to me.

Didn’t something like this happen with Philogene ?

I think we would keep Cajuste around if we are promoted. If things go right in the transfer window, he wouldn't be a starter by any means but he must surely be worth a place in the squad.

Akpom will be getting loaned out almost immediately. If we sell, you'd imagine we'd easily lose three or four million on him now - which albeit is peanuts to a PL team.

Cajuste was literally the only player in the current squad who when last played in the Premier League looked naturally at home - dare I say he looked even better in the PL.

We certainly wouldn’t be looking to offload him, he’d very much be part of the group I’m sure.
