Mick Mills was very complimentary about us throughout the McKenna reign until Christmas of the Premier League. Indeed he even thought before Christmas of the Premier League season that we would survive.
Since then he has been less complimentary, but as speaking as someone who has barely missed a match home or away, since then, there has been a lot not to be complimentary about. 
In any event, his supposed negativity (or in my view punditry) is nothing like the sort of negative nonsense that appears on TWTD.
And when he gets a chance (he did so a couple of weeks ago) he always waxes lyrical about Sam Morsy. [Post edited 1 Feb 9:11]

As it is, I tend to bash out things on here, and never check them in the way that I used to when I worked as a lawyer.
It's actually quite refreshing and is a change from printing things out and proof reading them, which I find is the only way to properly eliminate all grammar and spelling mistakes.

You think Mick Mills has an influence on the home or away crowds during games, the vast majority of which may not even listen to his thoughts after the game?

Clarke took a dive to get it and it wouldnt have been given if he didnt tbh. But the bit about the remaining time added on was bizarre as I thought the complete opposite. They spent ages trying to argue about the penalty spot, then about the double-touch, all of which was simply delaying tactics and the ref should have added on far more.
I think generally Mills is pretty fair in his assesments of the team. He has the long term view of where the club has come from, the players who have fitted a system and havent and that adds a lot in comparison to all the other co-commentators the BBC se. | | | |

I think we're very lucky to have Brenner, Mills and Graham Mac.
There can't be many (if any) better local radio football equivalents.

For all that Beattie was a club legend, his insight on games prior to Mills doing it wasnt particularly insightful and Mathie is very much the same (as is the fan they sometimes get to to do it).
Mills offers genuine thoughtful insight and opinion that has way more depth than anyone else doing it. I am always interested to hear what he has to say, not necessarily because I agree with it (although generally do), but more because it offers an opinion that has enough weight behind it to offer some value in the conversation. Inevitably, his age and monotone style probably affect opinions (fwiw, he was before my time too, so have no specific reference to him as a player).
Its interesting that having read this thread, Ive seen two other threads since that have picked up on both a.) how Clarke dived to try and win the penalty b.) how well Jebbison played for PNE yesterday, both things that Mills also spoke at length about. | | | |

He’s awful. Cannot pronounce Matusiwa nor Cajuste’s name. Didn’t even know Dan Neil’s name, kept referring him as the guy from Sunderland and talks absolute drivel. Please get him off air asap |
If Mick is a summariser for the BBC on ITFC matches, the least you could expect is that he can pronounce the names of the players. Maybe when we have a new player it might take a few days to check with colleagues etc. on the correct pronunciation. I find it very disappointing that he hasn't bothered. He sometimes makes some good observations, and of course he's a club legend, but yesterday I was feeling embarrassed for him, and beginning to think it's time he was put out to grass. |  |
