Which probably blinds them to all the other nonsense that the ref plainly got wrong. | |

If the first penalty had not been given, any one of the other three incidents would have been.
The ridiculous inequality of fouls was beyond belief. Including leading up to their goal where there was a blatant foul in there right back area and most the players had stopped, including PNE [Post edited 1 Feb 11:01]

Fans only complain about the poor decisions against them. Having seen a replay Clarke takes a dive for the penalty.
But I’ve not seen the other 3 penalty claims afterwards one of which did look a clearer foul than the one that was given. Also Mehmeti offside decisions in the first half. I sit at the opposite end so couldn’t tell if it was offside.
The ref was equally poor for both sides, numerous decisions were given to Preston my favourites were when Clarke dribbled past the player and got given a foul against, the keeper went to floor with a head injury when no one had touched him, and then the one where the Preston player just sat on the ball….
But enough the refs have been poor all season, luckily Jebbison, who I’ve seen get lots of praise from pundits and fans, can’t finish any better then Hirst. | | | |

Are we sure they were? O'Shea's shot is right at him and his arms are close to his body. The other one looks a bit more suspect but even then I don't think any replays really show his left arm far from his body. | |

the penalty comes in near enough the 89-90th minute. lets talk about the rest of the game to summarise the refs overall performance
as whoever the ref booked on our bench when he actually awarded us a free kick after a PNE went through the back of Cajuste in the 2nd half isnt getting that wound up and shouting rude things in the refs direction, because the ref is being "equally bad" for both sides, is he ?
and you can summarise his officiating exactly like that, he gavs free kicks to town only when players were being badly fouled, he was giving PNE freekicks when they sat on the ball, or went down with no contact, Clarke got taken down 2-3 times before the penalty and the ref waved play on.
and his pickiness on throw ins, yet complete disregard 90% of the time for where free kicks should be taken.
there was one where the PNE goalie moved it a good 7 yards nearer the middle of the pitch, the ref told him to move it back, the goalie responded moving it another 7 yards the other way, and the ref did nothing.
just like his attitude towards time wasting, and the 8 second rule, he got to his full 5 second visual countdown nearly every one of their goal kicks, didnt even speak to their goalie about it once.
he was a rubbish ref, thats not why town didnt win the game or struggled to get a draw from it, but he was rubbish, and more rubbish towards us than PNE, even if theyll moan about the penalty more, as others have said there were multiple shouts in that last 5mins any of them could have been given. but there was no way he was going to award them and decide the game, so he bottled it as well as being rubbish. | | | |
