Sorry didnt mean to downvote this as I kind of agree with the first part of your post.
I dont think SS has been a particularly good fit for us,,for 1 reason or another. Not sure we play to his strengths but also he isnt the natural goalscorer some people seem to think he is. Bar his 1 good season for Blackburn,he never got near 20 goals in a season,even at league 1 level.
Wasn't sorry to see him go,just disappointed that we have left ourselves a player short in the overall squad. |  |

Judging by the fact that we spent £30 million on right wingers and were prepared to spend another reputed £14 million on yet another winger and we have two top players in one position on the left wing doesn't that bring into question what on earth is going on recruitment wise. We also got in Akpom and Azon neither of whom have set the league alight.
It can of course be argued that the team had to be remodelled and as was said a different type of player brought in. But that has only happened to an extent.
Nobody expects every player brought in will be fine. But are we missing the target too often. | | | |
