Audiobook recommendations! 16:42 - Feb 7 with 701 viewsBlacknGoldnBlue

I have a new job and spend a lot of time driving, so I subscribed to Audible, and am looking for recommendations of books, podcasts etc to make the long journeys a bit more bearable. Have listened to Chasing Ghislaine: The Untold Story of the Woman in Epstein's Shadow and am open to all suggestions. Also, if anyone knows of a cheaper/better alternative then happy to hear!

Also a commuter.

BBC Sounds has some great podcasts, True Crime, Current Affairs, etc. Also some great comedy from Radio 4 and elsewhere : Dead ringers, Just A Minute, Nature Table and Evil Genius to name a few.

Also some good audio books. All free, too.

I like True Crime, Espionage, Classics. Happy to send a few suggestions if that's your idea of a good read/listen?

This is Miss Slave's area of expertise as she constantly has a book on the go while working as a gardener. A better alternative, although not cheaper, is Bookbeat as you get unlimited books. Also the free library apps are Borrowbox and Libby.
A recent recommended listen is Wally Lamb, The River is Waiting. American Dirt, A Picture of Dorian Gray she really enjoyed on audio too. Stuff by Jeffrey Deaver too.

Literally came on this thread to say the same. They're so joyful but I, Partridge is unbeatable.

This app looks decent, especially good that get a free month.

Chatabix is really good fun to put a bit of perspective on the mundane bits of life while having a good laugh. David earl and joe Wilkinson are brilliant.

It's not Shakespeare but I enjoyed Bob Mortimer reading his own books. Very entertaining and his voice adds to that in my mind.
