Chasing the game on Sat we swapped Akpom for Matusiwa, anyone see how we were set up at that point ? I couldn’t see on Town TV and tbh had given up.

Seemed like a weird one.

Nunez went deeper. Made sense to me.

So you think bringing on a more attacking player for a more denfensive player when you're losing is a weird sub?

Our front and midfield players are quitre fluid so I'm, not sure why you think its weird.

Whatever you think of Akpom, he is porbably more likely to score than Matusiwa.

….I briefly thought he was going to change shape and have an extra attacker when we needed it most.

But he just told Nunez to sit in the middle and Akpom went to the 10.

Same formation, no impact, same outcome.

It’s things like this that frustrate me about KM.

….if you don’t change the formation and just stick to the same patterns of play but with different players.

It doesn’t matter what their attacking ability is if they are just asked to perform “the role”.

Yes sometimes lets go 2 up top, chuck the ball into the box.

Win at all costs.

Maybe weird was the wrong choice of words, not a sub I can recall us ever making.

When plan A doesnt work you just try and do a better job at plan A.

Couldn't see the harm in just sticking Greaves up front with Hirst and just lumping it in to try and create a bit of chaos .... its worked against us on a number of occasions!

The scores were level when that change was made.

It might have been better to strengthen midfield with an extra player rather than stick to plan A. With 20 minutes plus added time to go & Wrexham getting more of the ball there was time to get a breakaway chance, so keeping them out ought to have been our priority.
