I remember it well.

The year that Wednesday were 8 points clear with a game in hand and were uncatchable based on PPG and recent form.

It was a three horse race between Plymouth, Town and Barnsley because of their 2 games in hand ('worth' 4 points because of their PPG).

Then something weird happened. The top three clubs all decided to free themselves of the shackles of current form and PPG and defy best estimates. And at the end of the season, the top 5 teams at the end of February, would look back and identify just about any match in their entire season as games which were "must win" in retrospect.

I still find it really frustrating that we didn’t collect all six points from Man Utd. Even if I live for another 60 years I won’t see a worst Man Utd team and we just rolled over, especially at OT.
